gorgeous Assari blue 2024 Audi RS6. And00:00:16
the RS6 is already outrageously fast. It00:00:19
has 590 horsepower from its twin turbo00:00:21
V8, sending all of that juice to all00:00:25
four wheels through an 8-speed automatic00:00:27
gearbox. But this one is even better00:00:29
because although the RS6 is incredibly00:00:31
fast and capable, this one is more fast00:00:34
and capable because it's been tuned by00:00:36
apt, not ABT, APT. This has the APT S00:00:39
package. It's a $25,00000:00:42
performance package that boosts the00:00:45
juice to $710 horsepower. Their website00:00:48
says 691, but I think I've seen higher00:00:51
claims, so let's just call it an even00:00:53
700. Why not? And while everyone's going00:00:55
for fast SUVs, you know, tuned up X5M00:00:59
and X3M Competitions and SQ8s and all00:01:03
kinds of crazy stuff, I want to get back00:01:05
to cars. Now, this is no lightweight.00:01:07
She's still big and it's definitely00:01:09
wide, but I think cars and wagons are00:01:11
where it's at. Now, when I was a kid,00:01:13
station wagons were nerdy. My dad drove00:01:16
a 1989 Volvo 740 wagon, and it meant00:01:19
that my dad had a job to do. It meant00:01:22
that he had to put stuff in the car, put00:01:24
the kids in the car. It was basically00:01:26
all but a minivan in that world back00:01:29
then. And somehow we got sold the idea00:01:32
that we needed giant SUVs because of00:01:35
space, because of higher visibility. But00:01:38
because wagons got this reputation for00:01:40
being kind of uncool. It meant that you00:01:41
could have sleeper wagons. We all know00:01:43
the Letterman wagon from Volvo that he00:01:46
put a 5 L Ford V8 into it. And the idea00:01:50
that you could be at a gas station and00:01:52
hear a Volvo start up but get the chop00:01:55
of a American V8 was very very cool. Now00:01:58
the sleeper is dead. If you see a wagon,00:02:01
it's probably an E63S, an RS6, or maybe00:02:04
even a Ferrari GTC for Luso. And it's00:02:07
very difficult to say that there are any00:02:09
sleepers out there anymore because00:02:10
electric cars are stupid fast. This00:02:13
however this might change my mind00:02:15
because sure you expect an RS6 Avant to00:02:18
be a fast car or wagon but this apt tune00:02:22
version is way beyond my expectations.00:02:25
So let's take a look around. First of00:02:26
all, what are you getting for your money00:02:28
when you pay apt? I'm going to read off00:02:30
my little list. It has the apt power S00:02:33
kit with a carbon intake, the apt tune,00:02:35
the intercooler, the exhaust pack which00:02:38
sounds very very good, the carbon side00:02:40
skirts and rear veilance. And this one00:02:42
from Audi has the Iscari blue paint.00:02:45
It's got the black optic package, the00:02:47
executive package, and it has the00:02:48
individual contour seats, which are00:02:50
basically like S8 seats. They are quite00:02:53
comfortable. Pushing all of this power00:02:57
to the ground are inappropriate tires.00:02:59
It is very cold today. These are summer00:03:01
tires. And I think if you were going to00:03:03
daily drive this throughout the winter,00:03:04
which I highly recommend you do if00:03:06
you're going to buy a vehicle like this,00:03:07
this should not be a garage queen. You00:03:09
go and put a nice set of winter tires.00:03:11
And I think the Blizzac 6 that just came00:03:14
out a year or two ago is the ideal00:03:17
winter setup for this car because that00:03:19
is more geared for supercars or faster00:03:22
cars than necessarily just throwing on00:03:25
some big horrible chunky snow tire that00:03:27
kind of wicks away your performance but00:03:28
allows you to get away with the snow.00:03:29
It'll kind of do best of both worlds. We00:03:31
drove that in Colorado on their ice00:03:34
track. But anyway, what's impressive is00:03:36
that with all this power, they're00:03:38
putting it down with a 285 section00:03:40
square setup. So, front and rear are00:03:42
both 285s. A lot of times you're going00:03:44
to see staggered setups where you're00:03:45
going to have like a 325 on the back of00:03:47
a car like this. I love this because you00:03:49
can rotate the tires, extend the life of00:03:52
them, but you'll probably be roasting00:03:53
them anyway because I'm pretty sure00:03:54
we're going to spin all four today. And00:03:57
then bringing us down to earth when we00:03:59
need to slow it down because this has a00:04:01
lot of juice is a 10 piston caliper up00:04:04
front. So, these things do stop quite00:04:06
well. I love these side skirts. They00:04:09
look pretty darn good. But the00:04:10
practicality of the RS6 Avant is really00:04:14

You open this cavernous hatch. You can00:04:21
fold down all these seats. Fantastic00:04:23
ability to throw your bikes, your stuff,00:04:25
your skis. You get a roof box. You bring00:04:27

RS6s, they don't have the AB versions,00:04:34
but they basically stopped driving their00:04:36

package is not simply turning up juice00:13:24
unnecessarily. It's actually giving you00:13:27
a better version of what the RS6 is. And00:13:32
