    time I'm reading to you from Matthew 9th

    36-38 that when he saw the multitudes he

    was moved with compassion on them
    00:01:00
    because they fainted and were scattered
    00:01:03
    abroad as sheep having no Shepherd then
    00:01:05
    sayith he to his disciples the Harvest
    00:01:08
    is truly plenteous notice that word
    00:01:11
    plenteous but the laborers are few pray
    00:01:14
    you therefore the lord of the Harvest
    00:01:15
    they send forth labors into his Harvest
    00:01:18
    field Jesus said this is Harvest time he
    00:01:22
    said in fact the Harvest is
    00:01:25
    plenteous now I I'm trying to
    00:01:28
    see what caus Jesus to say this and what
    00:01:31
    kind of atmosphere this statement came
    00:01:34
    forward what did he see would cause him
    00:01:37
    to say the Harvest is ripened and it's
    00:01:40
    plenteous was there some kind of a
    00:01:42
    spiritual awakening that no one else saw
    00:01:45
    but Christ with the priest beginning to
    00:01:47
    turn to him with the Pharisees and
    00:01:49
    scribes beginning to open their hearts
    00:01:51
    to him was there some kind of move in
    00:01:55
    the synagogue toward Christ or the
    00:01:57
    things of
    00:01:58
    God what evidence was
    00:02:01
    there that Jesus would say the Harvest
    00:02:04
    is not only right but it's
    00:02:06
    plenteous what about the masses of the
    00:02:09
    people was there any turning to God
    00:02:13
    Among the masses of the people at this
    00:02:15
    time I don't see any evidence whatsoever
    00:02:19
    in fact I I see Christ integrity and
    00:02:22
    Divinity being questioned by the
    00:02:24
    Pharisees the religious crowds
    00:02:26
    attempting to kill him they take him to
    00:02:28
    a hillside ready to cast him over the
    00:02:31
    thieves and the robbers have taken over
    00:02:33
    the
    00:02:34
    temple I hear Jesus saying woe to coren
    00:02:39

    whoo whoo whoo and yet Jesus says it's a

    time for Harvest no evidence whatsoever

    in the land that there's a turning to
    00:02:52
    God no Spiritual Awakening in sight

    anywhere and the masses are in total
    00:02:58
    distress the scriptures says Matthew
    00:03:01
    9:36 but when he saw the multitudes he
    00:03:03
    was moved compassion on them because
    00:03:05
    they were distressed they were downcast
    00:03:08
    like sheep having no
    00:03:10
    Shepherd a stressed out depressed
    00:03:14
    society and the Bible says then Jesus
    00:03:18
    said the fields are white ripe plenteous
    00:03:22
    for
    00:03:24
    Harvest do those words of Jesus have any
    00:03:26
    meaning to us today
    00:03:29
    what evidence do we see in America in
    00:03:33
    the world today that it's harvest
    00:03:36
    time do you see evidence of the United
    00:03:39
    States or any Nation repenting I see
    00:03:41
    Europe going totally away from God
    00:03:44
    secular society you see it all over the
    00:03:48
    world Millions turning to
    00:03:50
    Islam you see most depressed stress
    00:03:55
    Society in all of
    00:03:57
    history are the churches the old line
    00:04:00
    churches what about the Presbyterians
    00:04:02
    the methodists the Baptists and even the
    00:04:03
    Pentecostals is there some great
    00:04:06
    stirring what we had it here in New York
    00:04:08
    after 9/11 when the towers fell we 6
    00:04:12
    months of people rushing to churches and
    00:04:14
    crying and weeping and prayer meetings
    00:04:16
    in Yankee Stadium and all over the
    00:04:18
    country and our Congress on the steps of
    00:04:22
    the Congressional building all singing
    00:04:25
    God Bless America sing the sweet little
    00:04:28
    prayers 6 months of a little stirring
    00:04:31
    and then 6 months later less people
    00:04:33
    attending church in New York United
    00:04:34
    States than before
    00:04:36
    9/11 there is absolutely no evidence
    00:04:40
    whatsoever no evidence of a moving or
    00:04:43
    turning to God in a massive way in fact
    00:04:46
    Jesus looked over the city of Jerusalem
    00:04:49
    just before or in this same time element
    00:04:52
    and he wept over Jerusalem he said you
    00:04:56
    you your city is going to be left to you
    00:04:58
    desolate
    00:05:00
    the
    00:05:02
    disciples he looked over this city and
    00:05:05
    at he's looking at hardness and
    00:05:06
    blindness and Nation that's headed for
    00:05:08
    judgment he's saying your house is Left

    To You desolate but this is a time of

    harvest
    00:05:15
    amazing Jesus gives us a picture what
    00:05:18
    it's going to be like in the last days
    00:05:20
    because you see the last days begin at
    00:05:21
    the Ascension of
    00:05:23
    Christ The Last Days started there and
    00:05:26
    will end it is coming and we're getting
    00:05:27
    very near that place now
    00:05:30
    the
    00:05:31
    disciples asked the Lord to show them
    00:05:34
    the signs of the last days and the
    00:05:37
    scriptures said he said the Earth will
    00:05:39
    be full of distress the Nations distress
    00:05:41
    with confusion the Sea and the waves
    00:05:43
    will be
    00:05:44
    roaring men's Hearts will fail them for
    00:05:47
    fear and looking after those things that
    00:05:48
    are coming upon the Earth where the
    00:05:50
    powers of heaven will be
    00:05:52
    shaken and when you read the rest of the
    00:05:54
    challenge C Christ will lead many astray
    00:05:57
    Nations will be divided famines Earth
    00:05:59
    Quakes tribulation Believers will be
    00:06:02
    hated because they even mention the name
    00:06:04
    of Christ many will fall away the
    00:06:07
    scripture says because of an increase of
    00:06:09
    sin the love of many will grow cold
    00:06:11
    false prophets will deceive many and
    00:06:14
    these prophecies are happening before
    00:06:16
    our very eyes as I stand in this Pulpit
    00:06:19
    this morning the most distressed
    00:06:22
    depressed generation of all times the
    00:06:24
    most sinful that would cause even the
    00:06:28
    most vile Sinners thirst years ago to
    00:06:30
    blush today if they experienced and saw
    00:06:35
    what we see and hear the vexation that
    00:06:38
    we as Christians
    00:06:40
    endure that they could have never
    00:06:42
    understood and you've got to be totally
    00:06:45
    in denial if you don't see everything
    00:06:48
    being shaken that can be shaken on Earth
    00:06:51
    everything's being
    00:06:55
    shaken if the lord of the Harvest
    00:06:58
    describes
    00:06:59
    the Harvest is being ready in the
    00:07:02
    darkest of times you better believe it
    00:07:06
    he said get your eyes off the conditions
    00:07:09
    I'm telling you the Harvest is
    00:07:12
    ready now Jesus understood the hearts of
    00:07:15
    men how that in time of prosperity they
    00:07:18
    turned their back against God it it when
    00:07:22
    the multitudes fainted with distress and
    00:07:24
    Scattered and lost during Christ time he
    00:07:27
    said then he said the Harvest was is
    00:07:29
    rape but you go back and look at Israel
    00:07:32
    and you see the pattern and the the law
    00:07:36
    of the Harvest is simply this the darker
    00:07:39
    the generation the whiter the Harvest
    00:07:42
    the darker the times the more open
    00:07:45
    people will become to the gospel there
    00:07:47
    has to come a time of
    00:07:49
    distress remember God told Israel your
    00:07:52
    time has come it's harvest time for you
    00:07:55
    Deliverance is coming but first there
    00:07:57
    came nine National calamities weather
    00:08:00
    changes
    00:08:01
    unpredictable unprecedented natural
    00:08:07
    disasters and even that did not shake
    00:08:10
    them there had to be one final Calamity
    00:08:13
    that everybody in Egypt from pharaoh and
    00:08:16
    every every citizen that Nation could
    00:08:19
    not say this is nature out of control
    00:08:22
    this is not a tsunami this is not nature
    00:08:25
    this is not an earthquake this is not a
    00:08:28
    mud slide this is not rainstorms this is
    00:08:31
    these are not hurricanes and tornadoes
    00:08:33
    this is not nature out of control this
    00:08:35
    is the hand of
    00:08:37
    God but just before that dark
    00:08:41
    night Israel was prepared and ready and
    00:08:45
    the Harvest
    00:08:47
    began what's it going to take in the
    00:08:50
    United States what's it going to take in
    00:08:52
    this world there's coming a time when
    00:08:54
    what happens every man on the face of
    00:08:57
    the Earth will say this is not nature
    00:08:59
    out of control this is
    00:09:05
    God but jesa no wax fat see God
    00:09:08
    prospered them and they kicked they grew
    00:09:11
    fat they were covered with fatness then
    00:09:13
    they forsook the Lord but the Bible said
    00:09:16
    God brought them low God brought them
    00:09:19
    low not just nature out of control but
    00:09:22
    God brought the Nations low brought
    00:09:24
    Israel low and in their distress they
    00:09:26
    called upon the Lord in psalm 18:4

    David said the Sorrows of death
    00:09:32
    compassed me and the floods of ungodly

    men made me afraid then in my distress I
    00:09:36
    called upon the Lord Psalms 1076 they
    00:09:39
    cried to the Lord in their trouble he
    00:09:41
    delivered them when they were in
    00:09:45
    distress trouble distress perplexity
    00:09:48
    birth to cry of
    00:09:51
    help you see no country is closed to the
    00:09:56
    Gospel of Jesus Christ as far as God is
    00:09:59
    concern
    00:10:00
    concerned in Indonesia especially and in
    00:10:03
    Sri
    00:10:05
    Lanka you know these nations had shut
    00:10:08
    Christ out completely the gospel was
    00:10:10
    shut but after the tsunami relief groups
    00:10:14
    went in we sent two doctors World child

    World CH supported two doctors went into

    Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka had been closed

    no one could go no Christian could go

    near some of these Buddhist areas

    and such tenderness among those that

    would come so my doctor friend one of my

    dear friends was asked to go into a room
    00:10:57
    they took him into a a a palace and put
    00:11:00
    him in an isolated room and a man came
    00:11:02
    in and he didn't know till later he was
    00:11:05
    one of the chief
    00:11:07
    preest pre Bud Buddhist leader and he he
    00:11:12
    said he was sick and my doctor friend
    00:11:14
    ministered to him and the man said we
    00:11:17
    see something different but he said you
    00:11:19
    are welcome you're welcome you see in
    00:11:23
    the
    00:11:24
    distress people are forced to face
    00:11:28
    eternity thought of
    00:11:30
    Eternity and folks in this hard time

    Jesus said the Harvest is ripe it's
    00:11:38
    plenus you see the communism tried to
    00:11:41
    rid God out of Russia but Jesus came
    00:11:44
    back and said all you did was ripen the
    00:11:46
    Harvest China tried to keep Christ out
    00:11:50
    and all they did was ripen the
    00:11:52
    Harvest in the Ukraine they tried to
    00:11:55
    Outlaw God and tried to destroy
    00:11:57
    Christianity and all they did was
    00:12:00
    started a holy ghost Revolution and now
    00:12:03
    there's a born again man do is now the
    00:12:06
    premier in Ukraine Belarus is next New
    00:12:10
    York Times today called Belarus the most
    00:12:13
    communist dominated Nation on earth now
    00:12:16
    and already the Christians are beginning
    00:12:17
    to pray and nation is next going to be
    00:12:22
    shaken this proven pattern is All
    00:12:24
    Through the
    00:12:26
    Bible the darker the times the white of
    00:12:30
    the
    00:12:31
    Harvest now let's talk about that
    00:12:33
    Harvest this morning in the
    00:12:35
    1980s the church growth movement was
    00:12:39
    birthed they called it the decade of
    00:12:42
    harvest and they said that the churches
    00:12:45
    are no longer relevant they're out of
    00:12:47
    date with the modern society especially
    00:12:50
    the the birth of the Baby Boomers
    00:12:53
    generation and so they said you you have
    00:12:56
    the church has it's too traditional got
    00:12:59
    to be updated that you have to
    00:13:00
    contemporize your music contemporize
    00:13:03
    your worship style and so this was the
    00:13:06
    beginning of the movement of Technology
    00:13:08
    into the Church of Jesus Christ and it
    00:13:11
    was thought you've got to break from
    00:13:13
    your small
    00:13:16
    thinking they called it the decade of
    00:13:19
    harvest and out of that decade of
    00:13:22
    harvest in this church church growth
    00:13:24
    movement uh began in fer University in
    00:13:28
    California and spread to other Christian
    00:13:30
    universities and books and tapes came
    00:13:34
    and all the young
    00:13:36
    pastors said yes we're going to
    00:13:38
    modernize the church we're going to uh
    00:13:41
    be contemporary and we're going to be
    00:13:43
    Seeker sensitive and we are going to use
    00:13:47
    every modern convenience and instrument
    00:13:51
    to bring them into the house of God it
    00:13:54
    was the beginning of the mega church
    00:13:56
    period large churches sprang up all All
    00:13:59
    Over America 10,000 15,000 25 and 30,000
    00:14:03
    people huge campuses that look like uh
    00:14:07
    shopping malls and including McDonald's
    00:14:10
    and and all all of the all of the modern
    00:14:14
    conveniences and and then the sermons
    00:14:17
    were being Illustrated above uh with
    00:14:21
    film clips from Modern even R-rated
    00:14:24
    movies because people relate to
    00:14:27
    that and then at the end of the 1980s
    00:14:31
    and the early
    00:14:32
    1991
    00:14:34
    1992 surveys were taken even by the
    00:14:37
    church growth movement they were very
    00:14:39
    honest about it they wanted to see if
    00:14:41
    this new modern approach would bring in
    00:14:44
    the
    00:14:46
    Harvest
    00:14:47
    and this was this research was by gallop
    00:14:51
    and the Barnum group research group two
    00:14:55
    very valid respected research agen es
    00:14:59
    and they found out that during the 1980s
    00:15:03
    there was absolutely no growth in
    00:15:06
    Evangelical churches none whatsoever and
    00:15:09
    all the mega churches the large churches
    00:15:12
    were made up primarily of those who were
    00:15:14
    transfers from small
    00:15:16
    churches and the little church could not
    00:15:19
    compete with the big church they didn't
    00:15:20
    have money for all the bells and the
    00:15:22
    whistles they didn't have the money to
    00:15:24
    compete they didn't have the music they
    00:15:26
    didn't have the money and the people
    00:15:29
    flock to something that would be a
    00:15:30
    little more contemporary a little more
    00:15:32
    exciting and and the morals were no
    00:15:36
    longer to be challenged you were no
    00:15:38
    longer to think in theological terms but
    00:15:42
    in contemporary terms and you were not
    00:15:45
    to have what they called narrow thinking
    00:15:47
    but you're going to have corporate
    00:15:50
    thinking and after this now going into
    00:15:56
    1997 the latest survey say there are
    00:15:59
    less Baby Boomers going to church than
    00:16:01
    any time before and the statistics are
    00:16:05
    getting worse there's a stagnation in
    00:16:07
    the church the Evangelical Church
    00:16:10
    Nationwide there has been absolutely no
    00:16:14
    growth I read a I Came Upon
    00:16:18
    A a book this past
    00:16:20
    week written written by Dr
    00:16:26
    William charmi and his book book is
    00:16:29
    entitled stealing Saint stealing
    00:16:32
    sheep and he was in the church growth
    00:16:35
    movement and he was very very very
    00:16:37
    successful but he got
    00:16:39
    convicted he said where are these people
    00:16:41
    coming from where where are all these
    00:16:44
    people swarming into my church and he
    00:16:46
    got convicted because he was in numbers
    00:16:48
    now and he got convicted he said I am
    00:16:51
    evaluating my success and who I am by
    00:16:53
    the numbers in my my
    00:16:55
    congregation and brother Chad we got
    00:16:59
    convicted by it and said no this is not
    00:17:02
    right and because in his town he
    00:17:04
    realized that some of the churches were
    00:17:06
    near closing down because the people
    00:17:08
    were attracted to the the special music
    00:17:11
    and and and all of the the excitement
    00:17:14
    that was happening in this church but he
    00:17:16
    said we were not winning Souls you
    00:17:19
    understand the latest statistic is that
    00:17:20
    there are just a minute few Christians
    00:17:23
    who've ever won a soul to Christ very
    00:17:26
    few have ever won a soul to Jesus Christ
    00:17:30
    and now they have admitted it's a
    00:17:32
    well-known fact that the church growth
    00:17:34
    now there is no Harvest this is church
    00:17:38
    transference
    00:17:40
    transferring people and the Pentecostals
    00:17:44
    are among the
    00:17:45
    switchers they call them switchers they
    00:17:48
    switch churches and Pentecostals are the
    00:17:51
    main
    00:17:54
    switchers I'm not going to comment
    00:17:56
    anymore on that
    00:18:01
    I've been thinking about this
    00:18:05
    Harvest no growth oh he has big
    00:18:09
    churches but Jesus said the labors are
    00:18:12
    few and he's saying that to his apostles
    00:18:15
    who were not laborers they were not
    00:18:16
    ready because they can't even figure out
    00:18:18
    why he's talking to the Samaritan woman
    00:18:21
    anyhow they're not ready they he said
    00:18:24
    the labor are few he can't even use his
    00:18:25
    own right now they weren't
    00:18:27
    ready and he said the labors are few
    00:18:31
    what about all these mega churches what
    00:18:32
    about this church what about the
    00:18:34
    thousands that come here what about the
    00:18:36
    thousands that go to Brooklyn Tabernacle
    00:18:37
    wonderful churches where the spirit of
    00:18:39
    God on but he's still saying there are
    00:18:41
    few laborers and he's talking about our
    00:18:43
    generation
    00:18:45
    too and I got to thinking what if what
    00:18:48
    if the Lord just
    00:18:50
    before before he left the Garden of
    00:18:53
    Gethsemane and he's looking down to the
    00:18:55
    Future he's looking down through history
    00:18:57
    and he sees our time
    00:18:59
    and and there's a great heaviness in his
    00:19:01
    heart because he he sees that the
    00:19:04
    Harvest is not being reaped there are
    00:19:07
    not many Harvesters there there are few
    00:19:09
    labors and he said never has it been
    00:19:11
    riper before than in the last of the
    00:19:13
    last days and he looks at this and
    00:19:17
    there's a grief in his heart because he
    00:19:19
    sees a backsliding he sees a people
    00:19:21
    going for prosperity and for sex and for
    00:19:25
    success and
    00:19:26
    fame and and leaning on the flesh using
    00:19:29
    every flesh method known to mankind and
    00:19:32
    looking more like the world than the
    00:19:33
    world
    00:19:35
    itself and Jesus looks down and he says
    00:19:38
    to the father father they are not going
    00:19:41
    to get this harvest
    00:19:44
    in I want you to allow me to send a host
    00:19:47
    of
    00:19:48
    angels I want to send to the America I
    00:19:52
    want to send a host of angels I want to
    00:19:54
    send to Europe I want to send to the
    00:19:56
    whole world I want to send angels to
    00:19:58
    bring the Harvest now the Bible says
    00:20:00
    they will bring in a harvest but that's
    00:20:02
    the Harvest that we bring to
    00:20:05
    Christ and suppose the father
    00:20:09
    agreed
    00:20:11
    and somewhere in this even in this
    00:20:16
    decade a thousand Celestial beings
    00:20:19
    appeared in
    00:20:22
    America and they're in
    00:20:25
    radiant
    00:20:26
    superal appearance
    00:20:29
    and they so radiate that no human being
    00:20:32
    no person can deny their other
    00:20:35
    worldliness they're from another world
    00:20:38
    and these angels have come for the
    00:20:42
    Harvest they appear on radio and
    00:20:44
    television of being interviewed what a
    00:20:46
    what an excitement what a story that
    00:20:49
    would be as they appear in pulpits and
    00:20:52
    they're announced and people are coming
    00:20:54
    to hear these angels and they are
    00:20:57
    holding meetings and they are in
    00:20:59
    conferences and everywhere everywhere
    00:21:03
    these thousand superal beings are here
    00:21:07
    to bring in a harvest nobody would talk
    00:21:09
    about heaven like they could talk about
    00:21:11
    it no one could talk about the fruits of
    00:21:14
    Heaven in the in the river no one can
    00:21:18
    talk about the cross no one could expose
    00:21:22
    sin such as these
    00:21:24
    angels and like so a thousand Jonah's
    00:21:28
    America would be wooed and
    00:21:31
    warned A Thousand
    00:21:33
    Angels but just suppose that in a short
    00:21:36
    time they become enthralled with the
    00:21:39
    world and the spirit of Lucifer begins
    00:21:43
    to move in their midst and they begin to
    00:21:46
    compete with one another for
    00:21:48
    audiences and they begin to fight with
    00:21:51
    one another and accuse one another of
    00:21:54
    false Doctrine and they became intrigued
    00:21:57
    with the
    00:21:59
    technology and they become seduced by
    00:22:03
    those things that the sons of God
    00:22:05
    looking upon the women of the
    00:22:09
    Earth how long do you think it would
    00:22:11
    take that they would lose their
    00:22:14
    influence how do you imagine that they
    00:22:17
    would bring in the
    00:22:20
    Harvest they would have diminished their
    00:22:22
    testimony they would have voided
    00:22:25
    everything suppose they became like that
    00:22:30
    in other words like
    00:22:32
    us like the world
    00:22:34
    today like our ministry today
    00:22:38
    often we've diminished Our
    00:22:41
    Testimony because we've begin so wrapped
    00:22:43
    up in the things of the world we no
    00:22:46
    longer seek the face of Christ and we no
    00:22:48
    longer show to the world that the Christ
    00:22:50
    we preach has the power to change
    00:22:56
    us why would anybody want my
    00:22:59
    gospel why would anybody want my gospel
    00:23:02
    if all they saw in me was a murmuring
    00:23:05
    complaining Spirit why would they want
    00:23:08
    my gospel if I say Jesus is enough he's
    00:23:11
    my everything he's my supplier he gives
    00:23:14
    me joy he gives me peace and they see me
    00:23:16
    rocking around with a wrong sad face and
    00:23:19
    I'm sad
    00:23:21
    Samuel why would they want my religion
    00:23:24
    why would they want my Christ when I
    00:23:26
    preach that he's all Victorious and yet
    00:23:29
    I don't show that
    00:23:31
    Victory I don't have that
