Get there. Get there. Get there.
00:00:05
>> Life of a kicker, right? You've got to
00:00:06
have a short memory. You miss a kick,
00:00:08
you get a little mental. You got to be
00:00:09
able to scrap that. I told you you're
00:00:11
going to get that PR today.
00:00:12
>> This is a really talented camp. There's
00:00:14
a lot of guys going to go play college
00:00:16
football from this camp.
00:00:19
>> He squeezed in. That's all that matters.
00:00:21
Good work. Good work.
00:00:23
>> Welcome to my life. Welcome to my life.
00:00:25
Yeah.
00:00:27
On the bright side. Yeah. This music
00:00:29
here became my only life. Think I'm
00:00:32
going crazy. I'm out in my right mind on
00:00:36
the bright side. Yeah. Hey.
00:00:40
Yeah. When they got that brand new way
00:00:44
home asking in my repetition from my
00:00:48
chest, that's a bench press. Seeing more
00:00:50
behind the frame. Future bra feel the sh
00:00:53
thinking ain't nobody feel the way I do,
00:00:55
but someone got to feel the same. Yeah.
00:00:58
on the bright side. Yeah, this music
00:01:00
here became my only lifeline. Think I'm
00:01:03
going crazy. I'm not in my right mind.
00:01:06
Yeah. Welcome to my life. Welcome to my
00:01:09
life. Yeah.
00:01:10
[Music]
00:01:13
Welcome to my life. Welcome to my life.
00:01:16
Yeah.
00:01:20
Welcome to my life. Welcome to my
00:01:23
>> All right, we're here. We're at the big
00:01:24
showcase, the National Scholarship Camp.
00:01:27
It's an invite only. It is a big camp.
00:01:30
We did get here last night and got
00:01:32
checked in. I'll show you that little
00:01:33
clip right here.
00:01:37
All right. Look at the camera.
00:01:40
All right. Now,
00:01:45
got it. >> And then this morning, we started early
00:01:47
with a quick introduction. And Jamie
00:01:49
Cole, the owner, said this is the
00:01:51
largest camp in his history. Over a
00:01:54
thousand kids here. We were in there
00:01:56
just then with just the class of 2027
00:01:58
and it was packed out. There's there's
00:01:59
tons of kids.
00:02:10
call staff bad kid
00:02:13
and you go out there
00:02:16
field goals
00:02:19
this year obviously block
00:02:23
hard for you
00:02:26
just
00:02:28
reason to see where you're at some of
00:02:30
you guys top spots in your classes some
00:02:34
of you guys said man I just want to
00:02:36
prove that I'm really good high school
00:02:38
player right is working towards that
00:02:41
next level. Everybody's coming with
00:02:43
different goals. Some of you have no
00:02:45
idea. You're going to find out and
00:02:47
that's uh so anyway, it's a big honor
00:02:50
just to be here. Excited. Colin has done
00:02:52
great. You know, he's been working with
00:02:54
Alex McFersonson, the Auburn University
00:02:56
kicker. He's made some little tweaks and
00:02:58
improvements. He's been kicking great.
00:03:00
We're excited. Looking forward to a good
00:03:02
showcase, a good experience. It's two
00:03:04
days. There's three different charting.
00:03:05
We're used to only doing one charting at
00:03:07
those showcases. We get three different
00:03:09
charting this morning, this afternoon,
00:03:12
and then tomorrow morning. So, we're
00:03:13
going over right now. Let him warm up.
00:03:15
We'll do the first one. How you feel,
00:03:16
Colin?
00:03:18
>> I'm ready.
00:03:19
>> He's ready. Little nervous, a little
00:03:20
excited. 100% healthy, man. We feeling
00:03:22
good. Feeling strong. All right. We're
00:03:24
just trying to beat the last one. All
00:03:26
right. We did good at the last one. That
00:03:27
four-star Colin, that's who we're
00:03:29
competing against, not these other kids.
00:03:31
Just This is where you come and improve.
00:03:32
You come to get better. You come and
00:03:34
compete against yourself. So, we're just
00:03:35
here to compete against the four-star
00:03:37
Colin. try to work our way up to that
00:03:38
four and a half star and and maybe get
00:03:40
some rankings. All right, Colin, go be
00:03:43
great, baby. Let's do it.
00:04:08
[Music]
00:04:11
So Colin's going to start on the shorter
00:04:13
field goals. He got five on this side,
00:04:14
five on the other. Unfortunately, he's
00:04:16
starting with the farthest kick from the
00:04:18
shorter side. He'll be from 45. Quick
00:04:21
note, they're using college field goals,
00:04:23
so they're narrower, so we got to be
00:04:25
more accurate today.
00:04:27
[Music]
00:04:34
Good ball, Colin.
00:04:36
>> Good. >> Good ball.
00:04:42
>> Good kick.
00:04:51
>> Good.
00:04:55
>> He is good.
00:04:57
Great job. That a boy Colin just went
00:04:59
five for five on those. Stroking them.
00:05:02
Now we go from the longer distance and
00:05:04
he's got a strong leg right now. Just
00:05:06
keep it rolling.
00:05:07
>> Block is going to be 60. Yeah, we'll get
00:05:08
you set up. That's the white line
00:05:10
calling.
00:05:14
>> Get there. Get there. Get there. Get
00:05:16
there.
00:05:18
>> Oh, just short.
00:05:22
>> Get there. Get there. Get there.
00:05:25
Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
00:05:34
[Music]
00:05:41
>> Push.
00:05:43
>> All right. So, a little tougher from the
00:05:44
further distance. He had to go back from
00:05:46
60 since he has T. Very close on that
00:05:48
first one. Just a little short. Great
00:05:50
kick. The last time he kicked the 60,
00:05:52
just pushed a little bit. Still pretty
00:05:54
solid kick. She missed the two 60 yard
00:05:55
orders and then he just missed that 47.
00:05:58
Just kind of pulled it a little bit, but
00:06:00
overall good. Seven for 10. Didn't make
00:06:02
him the bonus balls. That kind of
00:06:03
stinks. But still, his leg looks good.
00:06:05
Pretty darn straight, especially with
00:06:07
those narrower goals. Let's go see
00:06:09
what's next. Look at Mr. Kicker right
00:06:11
here. He's dialed it in today, baby.
00:06:13
Just missed that first 60. I thought you
00:06:14
had it.
00:06:16
>> And then uh he's going to give me that.
00:06:18
>> I know. That's all right. Hey, good job.
00:06:20
It's exciting. All
00:06:27
right, time for some kickoffs.
00:06:51
All you need.
00:06:54
I got more for you.
00:06:58
>> Was like 60 61
00:07:00
>> 63.
00:07:01
>> Okay. Couldn't really tell. So 63 was
00:07:03
the best.
00:07:04
>> Well, I had two that were 63.
00:07:06
>> Here we go. Day one, round two. So we
00:07:08
had about a 5 hour break, which is nice.
00:07:09
We've not had that in the past. It's
00:07:11
always like bam, bam, bam. you go from
00:07:13
one to the next, but it's kind of spread
00:07:14
out over two days, so it's kind of nice.
00:07:16
So, we'll go do the exact same charting,
00:07:17
which again, we've never done the exact
00:07:19
same charting back to back. So, we'll do
00:07:21
the same exact charting. He'll kick
00:07:23
those same field goals, and then we'll
00:07:24
go do the kickoffs again. So, this will
00:07:25
be good cuz he's already done it once.
00:07:27
Now, he does have to go back and warm up
00:07:29
because it's been 5 hours, but he went
00:07:30
back to the room, kind of rested a
00:07:32
little bit. He got some lunch, just
00:07:33
chilled, did the massage gun a little
00:07:35
bit. So, we'll get back out here. He'll
00:07:37
warm back up. All right, round two. Here
00:07:39
we go. Stretching out.
00:07:41
Started doing some speed drills, kind of
00:07:44
some of those atomic drills,
00:07:47
some pogos, maybe some bounding.
00:08:02
I missed him.
00:08:03
>> No good.
00:08:07
>> Oh my god.
00:08:18
>> Good hit though.
00:08:19
>> Yeah.
00:08:21
[Music]
00:08:27
>> Oh my gosh.
00:08:33
Good ball.
00:08:43
>> Good. >> Good.
00:08:49
>> Good.
00:08:50
[Music]
00:08:51
Good.
00:08:52
>> Good.
00:09:17
[Applause]
00:09:19
Take some frustration out on that ball.
00:09:22
>> That's some PRs right there. I don't I
00:09:24
don't remember my first one was, but
00:09:26
second one was 71. Second or third one
00:09:28
was 72, last one's 73.
00:09:30
>> Yeah, it hit the You literally hit the
00:09:32
concrete. All right, started day two.
00:09:34
So, we finished up day one as you saw in
00:09:37
the video. Colin did finish strong with
00:09:38
some kickoffs, although didn't have a
00:09:40
whole lot to say about the second
00:09:41
charting on field goal. Just just off to
00:09:44
a bad start and just never never got it
00:09:47
dialed back in. But that's that's
00:09:48
kicking. That's the life of a kicker,
00:09:49
right? You've got to have a short
00:09:51
memory. You miss a kick, you get a
00:09:53
little mental, you got to be able to
00:09:54
scrap that, figure out what you do
00:09:55
wrong, make the correction, get back at
00:09:57
it. That's what we're doing today. Fresh
00:09:58
morning, fresh start. Feels about like
00:10:00
what it did yesterday morning. And he
00:10:02
had a great session yesterday morning in
00:10:04
the same type of condition. So, we're
00:10:05
out here. We're warming up. About to get
00:10:07
that third charting, the second day
00:10:09
today. And then that kind of wraps it
00:10:11
up. We do the field goal and then we
00:10:13
will do the kickoffs. And that's pretty
00:10:14
much it. That's a wrap. All right,
00:10:16
Colin. Let's go get it dialed in. Let's
00:10:18
cheer him on, guys.
00:10:28
Good start.
00:10:34
>> Good.
00:10:41
>> Good.
00:10:44
>> Colin kick number four.
00:10:49
Wide left,
00:10:51
Colin. Last kick.
00:10:55
>> Good.
00:11:01
>> Overall,
00:11:02
>> no. Good. Wide left.
00:11:09
>> Good.
00:11:16
>> That's good. That's good.
00:11:18
>> That's good.
00:11:20
>> Yes, sir.
00:11:30
Pulled it.
00:11:32
>> I told you you're going to get that PR
00:11:33
today. Get that 60, baby. Yes. That was
00:11:36
a great kick. You've been wanting that
00:11:38
one for a while. Good job. Good
00:11:41
redemption round right there. Yeah.
00:11:44
[Music]
00:11:52
Oh, >> he kind of knuckled that one.
00:11:59
>> Connor is trying to figure out what
00:12:01
happened because on the charts from
00:12:02
yesterday, it said his first field goal
00:12:04
scores were incomplete. They didn't have
00:12:06
anything. So, we're not sure what
00:12:07
happened, but at least he kicked better
00:12:09
on the second. They had those down. So,
00:12:11
he may be kicking another round. He just
00:12:13
kicked that round, but they were backed
00:12:15
up, so I really couldn't tell what the
00:12:16
yardages were. I don't know if he was
00:12:18
kicking further or not. I guess we're
00:12:19
about to find out. I had to see if he
00:12:21
needs to kick again. So, what they say?
00:12:23
>> I was I was telling about how
00:12:24
>> the incomplete.
00:12:25
>> Yeah. >> Yeah.
00:12:26
>> And he said he's like, "What which field
00:12:27
did you ch?" I was like, "I tried on
00:12:28
this one yesterday. You killed one." And
00:12:30
he's like, "Talk to us like after they
00:12:32
chart these guys."
00:12:33
>> Well, I know they backed y'all up a
00:12:35
little bit, so I don't know what your
00:12:36
scores were, what your distance is.
00:12:38
>> Yeah, I got 66 and 70.
00:12:40
>> Did you really? Awesome. with no wind
00:12:42
and rain, baby. It's raining.
00:12:44
>> Yeah.
00:12:47
All right, James.
00:12:49
>> Good ball.
00:12:52
>> 7374.
00:12:54
>> In recruiting circles, this next 12
00:12:56
months is probably the most important of
00:12:59
your whole journey. It's going to be
00:13:01
hopefully a fun and exciting situation.
00:13:03
So now the the real question is is what
00:13:05
can I do to separate myself to get
00:13:09
college coaches interested? what should
00:13:11
I be doing? And a lot of those important
00:13:14
questions that you guys have, that's why
00:13:15
you're here. This is potentially a dream
00:13:17
of yours. Now, the difference between
00:13:19
what you guys are facing and what they
00:13:21
faced 5 years ago is the roster cut
00:13:23
down. New rules are basically a roster
00:13:26
size of 105 85 scholarship. So, for you
00:13:30
guys, just anticipate six people in a
00:13:32
row. Two kickers, two punters, and two
00:13:34
staffers is generally the rule. This a
00:13:36
really talented camp. There's a lot of
00:13:38
guys going to go play college football
00:13:41
from this camp. But the one thing I will
00:13:43
tell you is there's a couple things.
00:13:44
One, where can you play early? Because I
00:13:47
see tremendous, tremendous value in
00:13:49
college football by playing early.
00:13:51
You're guaranteed to play early. I see
00:13:53
value maybe in taking that other
00:13:55
opportunity where you can get game film
00:13:57
and actually hit the portal and get a
00:13:59
big payday sophomore, junior, senior
00:14:01
year. You go to a big school, it's
00:14:03
preferred walk-on. There's a real chance
00:14:04
in that room of two they may scholarship
00:14:07
somebody over you and now you got no
00:14:09
experience and now you're looking
00:14:10
around. You're going to hit the portal
00:14:12
and you're going to have a hard time
00:14:13
finding anything equitable to you're
00:14:15
going down instead of up. You don't have
00:14:17
the grades that stop everything cuz
00:14:20
nothing else is going to get you in. So
00:14:21
being able to understand where you're at
00:14:23
athletically, where you're at
00:14:25
academically, that helps you find some
00:14:27
of those schools. I do feel the bar is
00:14:30
higher than ever before. That's why we
00:14:31
went to college uprights. You guys have
00:14:33
to be ready immediately. It's not fun in
00:14:35
games. You got to be ready. It's
00:14:37
exciting because you can use the next 5
00:14:39
years of college football to actually
00:14:41
make money that you never had an
00:14:43
opportunity to do. Literally, you're
00:14:44
professional at that point. That should
00:14:46
excite a lot of you. That opportunity
00:14:48
never existed before. When we talk to a
00:14:50
lot of our college guys, power four
00:14:52
guys, that's kind of the average kicker
00:14:54
salary now between$1 $150,000 this
00:14:56
upcoming season. It's a fun adventure
00:14:58
and you got to keep it fun. It's not
00:15:00
easy. If you think it's going to be
00:15:01
easy, that's probably going to be one of
00:15:04
the things that gets you out of here
00:15:05
quicker is you won't have the mental
00:15:07
fortitude to fight through the bad times
00:15:09
because not every day is going to go
00:15:10
your way. It's just it's life, man. I
00:15:12
wish it would. I really do. I wish
00:15:14
everybody could have a great day. It'd
00:15:16
be sunny, never rain, you know? I mean,
00:15:17
that'd be wonderful. But what are you
00:15:20
going to do long term from here? There
00:15:22
has to be an idea, a realization of
00:15:24
where you're at. Where can you get to?
00:15:27
What is your path going to be? Do you
00:15:29
want to keep doing this? Because if you
00:15:30
don't, man, just just have fun in high
00:15:32
school.
00:15:33
>> All right, three remain and now back 63.
00:15:36
>> I knew it. 63.
00:15:37
>> Oh, I hadn't met it yet. 63. Three left.
00:15:55
>> That was bar.
00:16:00
All right, buddy. Made it. So going
00:16:02
again.
00:16:07
>> Oh, nice.
00:16:18
>> Nope.
00:16:22
>> All right, there's your money.
00:16:26
Very nice.
00:16:41
5.
00:16:46
>> Nobody can hang with him. Champion.
00:16:49
All right. So, four, five, six may be
00:16:52
qualified for the kickoff finals. Big
00:16:54
ball wins. kicking from the 30. though
00:16:57
to the end zone. 70
00:17:05
>> 67
00:17:06
107 with his hang time.
00:17:14
>> 667
00:17:16
>> 107 total score.
00:17:19
>> Oh no, he didn't have hang time. 69 but
00:17:23
didn't have hang time.
00:17:30
70 10 for the hang. Got to beat the
00:17:32
score of 107.
00:17:36
>> Oh, he didn't have the hang time.
00:17:40
>> 68. Didn't have it. Got a tie between
00:17:42
these two. Who can keep the biggest?
00:17:46
>> Pretty good ball.
00:17:48
>> 74. 110's his total score. All right.
00:17:51
What we got? Pretty
00:17:55
good.
00:17:57
>> 72
00:17:59
>> 110
00:18:00
>> 110
00:18:02
tied. All right. Tie breaker number
00:18:05
three.
00:18:07
Good kick.
00:18:10
>> 728.
00:18:11
>> 108. Score.
00:18:19
>> 72.
00:18:20
>> That's a winner. 109.
00:18:22
>> 109. Got him. buy a little hand.
00:18:25
All right. Well, that's a wrap. We
00:18:26
watched the final competitions there and
00:18:28
Jamie's speaking. You know, I have part
00:18:30
of that that you guys have probably just
00:18:32
watched about him just talking about the
00:18:33
next level, you know, as juniors. All
00:18:35
that group, by the way, was class of
00:18:36
2027. I try to do a little bit of a pan.
00:18:38
Don't know how much it showed, but there
00:18:40
were a ton of just 2027 kickers,
00:18:43
snappers, punters. But anyways, he's
00:18:45
talking about just how vital these next
00:18:46
few months are now till May, so to the
00:18:49
end of the season in the spring to have
00:18:50
a good junior year. and then you know
00:18:52
kind of the recruiting process and and
00:18:54
all that. So it's really good
00:18:55
information that he was giving. So we'll
00:18:57
kind of see obviously we want the season
00:18:59
to go well and that's what Col and I
00:19:00
were talking to his buddy James down in
00:19:02
Venice. You know James didn't do as well
00:19:04
as he knows he could. We just talked
00:19:05
about you know like this is a good
00:19:07
learning experience. You know you're
00:19:08
going out here you're competing. You
00:19:10
know there's pressure situations and
00:19:11
it's about getting better, improving and
00:19:13
just continue to work towards your
00:19:14
journey of becoming the best that you
00:19:16
possibly can be. Colin um you know you
00:19:18
had had to have a bounceback day today.
00:19:20
How'd that go?
00:19:22
>> I definitely did pretty good to finish
00:19:24
it off. Know yesterday, second session,
00:19:26
field goals kind of killing me, but did
00:19:28
pretty good today. I got a seven again,
00:19:31
but uh
00:19:32
>> seven points. Yeah, seven points out of
00:19:34
a 12 possible, but got that 60. That was
00:19:37
huge, man. It was a PR and that was a
00:19:39
big kick. Hit the top of that crossbar.
00:19:41
So, that crossbar is higher than all the
00:19:43
other ones. So, if you hit it regardless
00:19:45
of where it hit, that was good. And so
00:19:47
really that was good for 61 at least cuz
00:19:48
I mean that was like probably a foot and
00:19:50
a half above. So that was awesome. That
00:19:52
was very exciting. And on college narrow
00:19:54
goal post so that was even more
00:19:56
impressive. And then kickoff. I mean you
00:19:58
had a strong kickoff today too, right?
00:19:59
67 and 70.
00:20:01
>> Wasn't nearly any like
00:20:03
>> Yeah, that was no win. We had to win
00:20:05
assistance the day before. Did you know
00:20:07
your hang time yet on those? So we don't
00:20:08
know total score.
00:20:09
>> I think my 70 was probably 36. Overall,
00:20:13
you know, great experience again, you
00:20:15
know, and I think one of the beneficial
00:20:16
things was even though the second
00:20:18
session of day one didn't go great, that
00:20:20
just shows you have to have the mental
00:20:22
game to be able to bounce back, have
00:20:24
that short memory, forget about, you
00:20:26
know, the bad kicks or whatever and got
00:20:28
to re regroup, refocus, and go out there
00:20:30
and kick good. And not only did he go
00:20:32
kick a PR yesterday after the kick off
00:20:34
on kickoff after not doing great on
00:20:35
field goals, then comes back today and
00:20:37
gets a PR and field goals. So, that's
00:20:39
great. I think that'll hopefully boost
00:20:40
the boost the mental confidence and you
00:20:42
know just confident in his ability and
00:20:44
you know things are not always going to
00:20:46
go perfect. Not always going to have a a
00:20:47
ball. So you got to be able to bounce
00:20:49
back and and make that next one. So
00:20:51
excited about that and we'll see how
00:20:52
results pan out in the rankings and all
00:20:54
that. Um don't really know. We'll have
00:20:56
to wait and see how it goes. But
00:20:59
regardless pretty excited about the
00:21:00
season, aren't you?
00:21:01
>> Yeah.
00:21:02
>> Yeah. He has said multiple times, man.
00:21:04
I'm excited for the season. We're going
00:21:05
to we're going to have a good year.
00:21:06
We're we're looking forward to it. So I
00:21:08
hope you guys follow along. We'll see
00:21:09
how the journey continues as we kind of
00:21:11
wrap up the summer. We'll be into to
00:21:13
fall football practice and games just
00:21:15
around the corner. So you guys follow
00:21:16
along. Let's see how the junior year
00:21:18
goes for Colin. See what kind of path
00:21:20
God's got him on. Thanks again for
00:21:21
following along, guys. All your support,
00:21:23
your love, all you new followers. We
00:21:24
appreciate you following along. And
00:21:26
guess what we're about to go do? Hop on
00:21:27
an airplane, fly to our family down in
00:21:30
Orlando for, yes, the family vacay down
00:21:32
in Orange Lake where we're competing
00:21:33
with all the rest of the family. So it
00:21:35
should be fun. So you guys tune in to
00:21:36
that as well. Love you guys.
00:21:39
What are you videoing?
00:21:41
Oh,
00:21:42
>> got that four and a half. And now I'm
00:21:44
officially ranked, kid.
00:21:47
>> Barely.
00:21:49
>> He squeezed in. That's all that matters.
00:21:51
Good work. Good work. Pretty exciting,
00:21:54
man.
00:21:56
>> We scroll down
00:21:58
and we squeezed in, baby.
00:22:01
Right here.
00:22:02
>> Meet Eric.
00:22:04
>> Dave. >> Eric.
00:22:07
Oh, it is
00:22:08
>> Stephen Gonzalez Santes.
00:22:12
>> And then you have, you know, just
00:22:13
bazillions after that that don't not
00:22:15
even ranked. So, it's huge, huge
00:22:18
accomplishment.
00:22:21
>> Subscribe my man Mr. Squad. Let's go.
00:22:23
>> Let's go. Let's go.
00:22:25
>> Shout out to the boys.
00:22:27
>> Welcome to my life. Welcome to my life.
