The game itself had been inspired by Sonic.EXE: The Disaster, a game which was unfortunately deleted on May 5th of 2025 by Sega Corporation. Outcome Memories takes heavy inspiration, though it attempts to put a twist and be its own game, such as having many more selectable characters. Sonic.EXE: The Disaster is an asymmetrical survival horror fan game where one player takes on the role of the monster while the others play as survivors. The survivor have to attempt to survive for as long as they can and then escape through the determinant escape route. The monster has to attempt to murder all the survivors or at least prevent them from escaping. All characters are given abilities that can be used for their own benefit. Sonic the Hedgehog is a video game series and media franchise created by the Japanese developers Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima, and Hirokazu Yasuhara for Sega. The franchise follows Sonic, an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who battles the evil Doctor Eggman, a mad scientist.
