    release, we also got the second beta for

    iPad OS 26.2, watch OS 26.2, Mac OS

    Tahoe 26.2, tvOS and HomePod version
    00:00:19
    26.2 along with Vision OS 26.2. But of
    00:00:23
    course in this video we are focusing on
    00:00:25
    iOS 26.2 beta 2 and everything new in
    00:00:28
    the software. So let's start by taking a
    00:00:30
    look at the build number. So if we head
    00:00:31
    into our settings general about the new
    00:00:33
    build here is 23C5033H.

    And if we go back and check out the
    00:00:39
    modem firmware version that is 1.20.05

    for the iPhone 17 series. All right. So

    now what's new here in iOS 26.2 beta 2.

    And the very first thing I noticed is

    that we have multiple new animations in
    00:00:54
    this update that make iOS 26 feel a lot
    00:00:57
    more like the demo that Apple showed at
    00:00:59
    the Worldwide Developers Conference when
    00:01:01
    they first unveiled the liquid glass
    00:01:03
    design in iOS 26. So the first one I
    00:01:06
    want to show you is on the home screen
    00:01:08
    right here. If you tap on the edit
    00:01:10
    button right here, take a look at this
    00:01:11
    animation. So if we go and tap on edit,
    00:01:13
    you could see it has that kind of
    00:01:15
    teardrop, that raindrop style of
    00:01:18
    animation. Now, if we compare that to
    00:01:20
    beta 1 and every other version of iOS
    00:01:22
    26, take a look at this. So, this is
    00:01:24
    what it looked like in iOS 26 through
    00:01:26
    iOS 26.2 beta 1. But here's what it
    00:01:29
    looks like in iOS 26.2 beta 2. You can
    00:01:32
    see a pretty obvious difference there in
    00:01:35
    the animation. I think it looks a lot
    00:01:36
    better. It looks a lot more fluid and
    00:01:38
    like what Apple showed us to begin with.

    Now, this is also not just exclusive to
    00:01:43
    the home screen. This is throughout the
    00:01:45
    menus in iOS. So, if we go into photos,

    for example, if we go into our photos
    00:01:48
    application and we tap on the three dot
    00:01:50
    menu right here, you could see that
    00:01:52
    animation also happens with this menu
    00:01:54
    inside of photos. And you will notice
    00:01:56
    that throughout iOS with the menu
    00:01:58
    system, they all have this new animation
    00:02:00
    style. Even in the music application, we
    00:02:02
    tap on the three dot menu right here.

    You can see that the menu comes out with

    that new animation style. Now, I do also
    00:02:08
    just want to clarify that this animation
    00:02:10
    does not have any lag. As you can see
    00:02:12
    right here, there is no lag when I pull
    00:02:14
    out this menu right here. and it has
    00:02:16
    that animation. So, in the screen
    00:02:17
    recording that I shared on Twitter or X,
    00:02:19
    it did look like there was a hitch, like
    00:02:21
    some type of lag, but that's an issue
    00:02:22
    with screen recordings. I've been facing
    00:02:24
    that for years on many iOS versions,
    00:02:26
    going back many iOS versions, but you
    00:02:28
    could see there's no lag there. Now, we
    00:02:30
    also have a few new changes to the
    00:02:32
    reminders application with beta 2. So,
    00:02:34
    as you guys know, with beta 1, we saw
    00:02:36
    the introduction of urgent reminders and
    00:02:38
    getting alarm for your reminder. So, now
    00:02:41
    iOS 26.2 2 beta 2 expands on that and we
    00:02:44
    get a brand new splash screen here. So
    00:02:46
    it says introducing urgent reminders. So
    00:02:48
    we have get an alarm, mark a reminder as
    00:02:50
    urgent and get an alarm when it's due.
    00:02:52
    We have snooze, snooze your alarm if you
    00:02:54
    can't get to it right away and also stay
    00:02:56
    reminded if you choose to snooze or
    00:02:58
    stop. A live activity remains to let you
    00:03:00
    open, reschedule, or complete the
    00:03:02
    reminder. So that's a brand new splash
    00:03:04
    screen right there. Now in the actual
    00:03:06
    application, we have some changes as
    00:03:07
    well. And actually notice this from the
    00:03:09
    very beginning. So you'll see with 26.2

    beta 1 on the left, 26.2 beta 2 on the
    00:03:14
    right, we have Siri suggestions that now
    00:03:16
    has a new look and it doesn't actually
    00:03:18
    say Siri suggestions anymore. It just
    00:03:20
    says suggested list and it shows
    00:03:23
    groceries automatically categorize
    00:03:24
    items. So if I tap on that, it will take
    00:03:26
    me there. So I'm not entirely sure if
    00:03:28
    that's the same as Siri suggestions, but
    00:03:30
    that was showing up in the place of it.

    And my series suggestions no longer show
    00:03:33
    up here on my main menu. So that's
    00:03:36
    interesting. It doesn't seem like it was

    the same because it shows something
    00:03:39
    different in my series suggestions. But

    that is something new I noticed here

    with beta 2. But the bigger change comes

    when we actually go into a reminder. So

    if we go into our reminders right here,

    we go ahead and to edit one of our

    reminders or just create a new reminder.

    We'll just create a new one. When you go

    to create a reminder, you'll notice that

    now with beta 2, you can see the urgent

    toggle. Whereas before, you were not
    00:03:57
    able to see the urgent toggle until you
    00:03:59
    selected not only a date, but also a
    00:04:02
    time. only then would the urgent toggle
    00:04:05
    appear right here inside of your
    00:04:07
    reminders application. But now you could
    00:04:09
    see it from the very start. And also if

    you just select a date, you could also
    00:04:13
    have the urgent, you know, reminder go
    00:04:14
    off at a date and it will choose the
    00:04:16
    default date for you at 6 p.m. whereas

    before you had to manually go ahead and
    00:04:20
    do that yourself. So in the first beta

    of iOS 26.2, we saw that the podcast
    00:04:25
    application added automatic chapter. So

    now if a podcast host does not, you
    00:04:30
    know, manually enter in the chapters for
    00:04:32
    that episode, Apple will do it using
    00:04:34
    automatic chapters, which is extremely
    00:04:36
    helpful and extremely useful. Now

    there's a small change with beta 2, but

    if you take a look underneath of
    00:04:42
    chapters, we now have a little magic
    00:04:44
    glyph icon to the left of automatically
    00:04:47
    created right there underneath of
    00:04:49
    chapters. But the feature itself works
    00:04:50
    the same. And you can see that when you
    00:04:51
    scrub across on the little now playing
    00:04:54
    bar, you can see that all the animations
    00:04:56
    show up the same. It's just that small
    00:04:57
    change there with the glyph when you tap
    00:04:59
    on the chapters. Now, also new in iOS

    26.2 beta 2 is a brand new animation
    00:05:04
    that might be one of Apple's best. Now,

    it might not be as practical, but just
    00:05:09
    looks wise and just how it appears and
    00:05:11
    how it transitions is amazing. So, in

    the measure application, if you go into
    00:05:16
    the level right here, here's what it
    00:05:17
    looked like on all of the iOS 26
    00:05:20
    versions. So, it looked like this. You

    have these little, you know, balls and
    00:05:22
    you can see kind of how it levels out
    00:05:24
    everything right there. there. So, it's
    00:05:25
    just using these little circles right
    00:05:27
    there to do it. But take a look at how

    that looks with iOS 26 point to beta 2.

    Take a look at the bubbles, the
    00:05:34
    animation right there. It uses liquid
    00:05:36
    glass and you can kind of see the
    00:05:38
    refraction from the numbers inside. So,

    obviously, it's not going to be super
    00:05:43
    readable at some sections. So, hopefully
    00:05:45
    Apple will fix this and kind of update
    00:05:47
    that to look better, be more readable.

    But, this animation is just top tier.

    Like, it's just so fun to play around

    with this. And you can see how it goes

    side to side. And just these liquid

    glass circles are pretty cool, I have to

    say. And I'm not sure why it was red

    right there, but here's what it looks

    like when it's black. And you can kind

    of see the numbers are a little bit more

    legible when it's black. But you can see

    what this looks like now in 26.2 beta,

    too. I'm sure Apple will continue to

    tweak this to make it a little bit more

    readable when it gets to like the center

    like this. But I don't think it's too

    bad. I just think it's a really cool
    00:06:17
    animation. Now, we also have a minor
    00:06:18
    change to liquid glass with beta 2. And
    00:06:20
    that is if you tap and hold on the X
    00:06:22
    button for notification center to clear
    00:06:24
    all notifications. That's now been
    00:06:26
    updated with the liquid glass design.

    So, before if you haptic press on that,

    you could see this is the bubble that

    you would get. That is not liquid glass.

    And it's also a lot more squared off

    than something you'd see with liquid
    00:06:38
    glass. But now, in 26.2 2, Beta 2. If

    you have to press on that same X right

    there, you can see you get a liquid

    glass design that's circular and it's
    00:06:46
    also more clear and it just matches the
    00:06:48
    liquid glass aesthetic. And there's also

    a slightly new animation for that as

    well. So, we have to press on that. You

    could see that's the animation, whereas

    now that is the animation. So, it's a

    little bit slower and smoother, whereas

    this one's a little bit quicker and like

    jolty, it seems like, than beta 2. So,

    nice update there as well on the lock

    screen. This update also brings a new
    00:07:06
    splash screen for the free form
    00:07:08
    application. So it says organize your

    content, attach objects, flexible

    layouts and style your tables. So we

    have tables now in free form and I

    believe a similar splash screen appeared

    in beta 1, but I got this one again here

    with beta 2. So of course tables is

    something new in free form and they are

    highly useful if you're somebody who

    uses this application a lot. So you can

    go down here and you can go to add table

    and you can customize that table right

    here. And then taking a look at the

    release notes, there's not a lot
    00:07:35
    mentioned here for the release notes in
    00:07:37
    26.2 2 beta 2. But there is one that's

    interesting here. So, this is a current
    00:07:41
    bug that does have a workaround. So, it
    00:07:43
    says devices set to everyone on 26.2
    00:07:46
    beta 1 are not discoverable by devices
    00:07:48
    on 26.2 beta 2 when it comes to AirDrop.

    But, as you can see, the update is to
    00:07:53
    just simply update both devices to beta
    00:07:56
    2 of iOS 26.2. Now, as far as the
    00:07:58
    performance and battery life goes here
    00:08:00
    on beta 2, so far so good for me with
    00:08:02
    performance. I did run a quick Geekbench
    00:08:04
    6 test. So we scored a 3812 9877. You
    00:08:07
    can see how that compares to beta 1
    00:08:09
    right here. So it was higher in the
    00:08:11
    multi-core slightly lower in the single
    00:08:13
    core. So obviously not always a telltale
    00:08:15
    sign of exactly what to expect from
    00:08:17
    performance, but I would expect the
    00:08:19
    second beta to be very similar to the
    00:08:21
    first beta when it comes to performance.
    00:08:22
    Of course, we should see a gradual
    00:08:24
    improvement with performance, but it
    00:08:26
    doesn't always work that way. So I will
    00:08:28
    keep monitoring the performance on beta
    00:08:30
    2. I will be running this on my main
    00:08:31
    device as well. I do run these betas on
    00:08:33
    my main device, so I will update you
    00:08:35
    guys, you know, if anything changes with

    performance. But so far, everything

    looks good to me. I'm not really

    noticing any type of issues so far. Now,

    as far as battery life goes, I'm
    00:08:43
    currently at 75%. You guys might have to

    go back to the beginning and see what I

    started the video with, but so far,

    battery life seems pretty good. I mean,

    I really had no issues with the first
    00:08:52
    beta when it comes to battery life on my
    00:08:54
    main device. It was very similar to 26.1
    00:08:56
    in terms of beta. So, we'll have to see

    if that continues here with beta 2. But

    once again, I will give you guys an

    update in my Apple Weekly episode if

    anything changes for the better or for
    00:09:05
    the worse. Now, as far as what to expect

    next from Apple, so next up is going to

    be iOS 26.2 beta 3. Now, we should be

    seeing that next beta most likely next

    week. So, next week is the week of
    00:09:16
    November 17th. That is when we should
    00:09:18
    expect to see iOS 26.2 beta 3. So, after
    00:09:22
    that, we should be seeing a beta 4 and
    00:09:24
    then potentially an RC and a final
    00:09:26
    release at some point, most likely in
    00:09:28
    mid December. So maybe the week of the
    00:09:30
    15th is when we could see that final
    00:09:32
    release for iOS 26.2.

    But of course, we'll have to wait and

    see on that for sure. Now, in the

    meantime, like I mentioned last week, we

    should also expect to see a 26.1.1

    update before the final official release

    of iOS 26.2. That's most likely just

    going to be a bug fix update, security
    00:09:50
    patch update as well. So to patch up

    some security issues and also to patch

    up any type of bugs that were lingering

    after iOS 26.1. So there you have it,

    guys. That is iOS 26.2 beta 2. A really

    nice update for these new liquid glass

    animations throughout iOS. I'm really

    digging those new animations. And of

      • select "Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)" in the "Profile" line;
      • click the "Browse" button to select a folder to save the converted video and click the "Start" button;
      • conversion speed depends on the resolution and duration of the video.
