00:00:00
on Brown University. Mr. President, do
00:00:02
you know what the motive of the shooter
00:00:04
was? Is it was
00:00:07
>> uh that's moving along now and we don't
00:00:11
and we'll uh we're going to see what
00:00:13
happens. Hopefully, they're going to
00:00:15
capture this animal.
00:00:17
>> Hopefully, they're going to capture.
00:00:18
>> Has Cash Patel told you why it's been so
00:00:20
difficult for the FBI to identify who
00:00:22
the shooter is?
00:00:23
>> Well, it's always difficult. So far,
00:00:25
we've done a very good job of doing it
00:00:27
with Charlie with, you know, the various
00:00:29
times this has happened. They've done it
00:00:31
in pretty much record time, but uh you'd
00:00:37
really have to ask the school a little
00:00:39
bit more about that because, you know,
00:00:40
this was a a school problem. They had
00:00:43
their own uh guards, they had their own
00:00:45
police, they had their own everything.
00:00:46
But you'd have to ask that question
00:00:48
really to the school, not to the FBI. We
00:00:51
came in after the fact and the FBI will
00:00:55
do a good job, but they came in after
00:00:56
the fact.
00:00:57
>> Do you know if it was targeted, Mr.
00:00:59
President? The
00:01:00
>> No, they don't know that yet. No.
00:01:01
>> Sir, on the issue of drugs, is it is it
00:01:04
accurate that you are considering an
00:01:05
executive order to reclassify marijuana
00:01:08
under the
00:01:09
>> We are considering that. Yeah. Are you
00:01:10
planning
00:01:11
>> because uh a lot of people want to see
00:01:14
it the reclassification because it leads
00:01:17
to tremendous amounts of research that
00:01:19
can't be done unless you reclassify. So
00:01:21
we are looking at that very strongly.
00:01:23
>> Mr. President, Mr. President,
00:01:25
>> is it true that the reports that you
00:01:28
rebuked the Israeli prime minister,
00:01:30
>> are the reports that you rebuked the
00:01:32
Israeli prime minister for the hit on
00:01:34
the Hamas general true? And is Israel
00:01:37
undermining your efforts to be a
00:01:38
peacemaker?
00:01:39
>> No. Israel and I have gotten along very
00:01:41
well. My relationship with BB Netanyahu
00:01:44
has been obviously a very good one.
00:01:46
Look, we we took out Iran. We we we
00:01:51
wiped out with that plane right there.
00:01:52
We wiped out the B2 bomber. We wiped out
00:01:55
the Iran nuclear threat. And because of
00:01:58
that, we were able to make peace peace
00:01:59
in the Middle East. No, we've had a very
00:02:01
good relationship with Israel. We
00:02:03
actually have a very good relationship
00:02:06
with just about everybody in the Middle
00:02:08
East. But was that a violation of the
00:02:09
ceasefire, the strike of the Hamas
00:02:11
general?
00:02:12
>> We're going to have to we're looking
00:02:13
into that. Yeah, we'll look into
00:02:16
on the uh Syria ambush of US forces. Do
00:02:19
you still have confidence in the Syrian
00:02:22
president? [clears throat] >> I do. I mean, this had nothing to do
00:02:24
with him. This is a part of Syria that
00:02:25
they really don't have much control over
00:02:29
and uh it was a surprise. He feels very
00:02:32
badly about it. He's working on it. He's
00:02:35
a strong man. And no, this had nothing
00:02:37
to do with the Syrian government. This
00:02:39
had to do this had to do with ISIS.
00:02:41
>> What will response be?
00:02:43
>> As a response, they'll be hit hard.
00:02:45
Yeah.
00:02:46
>> Javier,
00:02:48
first of all, thanks for honoring the
00:02:50
hero. The communist have lost Chile. The
00:02:52
proTrump candidate, Jose won the
00:02:54
elections. Do you think this rightwing
00:02:57
wave in the Spanish world is due to your
00:02:59
influence?
00:03:01
>> Well, I just we just had a good one in
00:03:03
Honduras, as you know. Had a great
00:03:04
election there. I endorsed somebody that
00:03:06
was not leading and he won the election
00:03:09
and we had a good one just a little
00:03:11
couple of hours ago. I found out in
00:03:13
Chile the person I endorsed who was not
00:03:16
leading ended up winning quite easily.
00:03:19
So I look forward to paying my respects
00:03:20
to him. I hear he's a very good person.
00:03:22
>> Mr. President, thank you Mr. President.
00:03:24
Um this year you fired Democrats from a
00:03:26
number of federal agencies and now going
00:03:28
into 2026 there are some key regulators
00:03:30
like the SEC, the CFTC that are going to
00:03:32
have zero Democrats. Do you plan to
00:03:35
appoint Democrats to fill those empty
00:03:37
spots or do you think that federal
00:03:39
agencies shouldn't have Democrat
00:03:40
commissioners?
00:03:41
>> Well, do you think they would be
00:03:42
appointing Republicans if it were up to
00:03:45
them? So, you know, we'll look at it.
00:03:47
Look, we want to be fair, but uh
00:03:49
typically they're not appointing
00:03:50
Republicans. So, you're asking me the
00:03:52
question whether or not I'd appoint
00:03:54
Democrats, but there are certain areas
00:03:56
that we do look at and there are certain
00:03:58
areas that we do share and share power
00:04:01
and I'm open to that. Please,
00:04:03
>> Mr. President, a number of Republicans
00:04:05
have denounced your statement on True
00:04:07
Social after the murder of Rob Reiner.
00:04:09
Do you stand by that post?
00:04:11
>> Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He
00:04:13
was a deranged person as far as Trump is
00:04:15
concerned. He said uh he liked he knew
00:04:18
it was false. In fact, it's the exact
00:04:20
opposite that I was uh a friend of
00:04:23
Russia controlled by Russia. You know,
00:04:24
it was the Russia hoax. He was one of
00:04:26
the people behind it. I think he hurt
00:04:29
himself in career-wise. He became like a
00:04:31
deranged person. Trump derangement
00:04:34
syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob
00:04:36
Reiner at all in any way, shape, or
00:04:39
form. I thought he was very bad for our
00:04:40
country. Yeah.
00:04:41
>> On blue slips, Mr. President. Leader
00:04:42
Thun doesn't seem like he wants to get
00:04:44
rid of blue slips. Will there be
00:04:46
consequences for the Senate if they
00:04:48
>> Well, I think they should get rid of
00:04:49
blue slips because as a Republican
00:04:52
president, I am unable to put anybody in
00:04:56
office having to do with US attorneys or
00:04:59
having to do with judges. In other
00:05:01
words, if you have one, not two, you
00:05:03
don't need two, just one. If you have
00:05:05
one Democrat uh senator where we have a
00:05:09
lot of them, you have one Democrat
00:05:10
senator in a state, it is not possible
00:05:13
to appoint because of blue slips, a
00:05:15
judge, it's not possible to appoint the
00:05:18
US attorney. You see that happening and
00:05:20
I think it's a disgrace. I think blue
00:05:22
slips are a disgrace. They've long since
00:05:25
uh I mean they're not they should not be
00:05:28
relevant anymore. This is a different
00:05:30
world than it was 15 20 years ago. You
00:05:33
know, that was a gentleman and gentle
00:05:35
woman world. This is a little bit
00:05:37
different, unfortunately. Yeah, please.
00:05:39
>> Mr. President, what do you want to see
00:05:41
Congress do this week as it relates to
00:05:42
healthcare and the expiring AC?
00:05:44
>> Yeah, that's a good question. I'd like
00:05:46
to see the people get the money. I'd
00:05:48
like to see all of the money that's
00:05:49
going to the Democrat insurance
00:05:51
companies. You know, the insurance
00:05:53
companies are making a fortune. They're
00:05:54
up 1,700% and more. and uh they're
00:05:58
taking in hundreds and hundreds and
00:06:01
hundreds of billions of dollars, even
00:06:03
trillions of dollars.
00:06:05
And Obamacare gives you terrible health
00:06:09
care. Just so you understand, Obamacare
00:06:11
was set up, and I said it right from the
00:06:13
beginning, for the benefit of the health
00:06:15
insurance uh insurance companies of the
00:06:18
insurance companies. They're making
00:06:20
billions and billions of dollars. Their
00:06:22
stock is through the roof. I don't want
00:06:24
to give them anything. I want all money
00:06:27
going to the people and let the people
00:06:29
buy their own healthcare. It'll be
00:06:32
unbelievable. They'll do a great job.
00:06:34
They'll get much better health care at a
00:06:37
much lower cost.
00:06:40
>> Would you like Republicans next year to
00:06:43
just use, excuse me, use reconciliation
00:06:46
to do with healthcare exactly what you
00:06:48
laid out and they wouldn't have to worry
00:06:50
about Democrat votes?
00:06:51
>> Well, that would knock out the
00:06:52
filibuster. If you knocked out the
00:06:54
filibuster, it would all go away. But we
00:06:57
have a few people that wouldn't do that.
00:06:59
It's uh crazy. Look, we should knock out
00:07:01
the filibuster.
00:07:03
And if you did that, we'd get voter ID.
00:07:06
You'd have uh no mailin voting. All
00:07:10
things that make our elections
00:07:12
dishonest. And you'd get a lot of other
00:07:14
things having not even to do with
00:07:15
voting. But [snorts] uh Republicans
00:07:18
should knock out the filibuster. And we
00:07:21
should approve a lot of things. You
00:07:22
wouldn't have January 30th looming
00:07:24
because you know you have you have the
00:07:26
30th of January looming. You know that,
00:07:29
right? And if we knocked out the
00:07:31
filibuster, it would be of just a simple
00:07:33
approval. But you have some Republicans
00:07:36
that they're unable to explain why. You
00:07:38
know, they if you ask them why, they're
00:07:40
unable to explain it. They cannot win
00:07:41
the debate, but they should knock out
00:07:44
the filibuster. And frankly, they should
00:07:45
get rid of the blue slips, too. Yeah.
00:07:47
>> Mr. President, the Democrats won Miami,
00:07:49
where you won the election one year ago.
00:07:51
Do you think it's because of Hispanic
00:07:52
media like Telmundo that are publishing
00:07:55
fake news about the ICE operations? How
00:07:57
do you plan to win back those votes for
00:07:59
midterms?
00:08:00
>> Yeah. Well, I won that whole election
00:08:02
and you know, it's interesting. When I'm
00:08:05
not running, we don't do as well. And
00:08:07
I'm going to try and get that changed
00:08:08
for the midterms. But we did have a big
00:08:10
win in Tennessee. As you know, Matt
00:08:13
Vaneps, Van Eps, uh, had a big win in
00:08:17
Tennessee against a very strong
00:08:19
candidate, attractive candidate who a
00:08:22
lot of people thought would do very
00:08:23
well. And Matt won by a lot. And, uh, I
00:08:26
won Tennessee by a real lot. You know,
00:08:29
we had a great, we had a great election.
00:08:31
We won every single swing state. We won
00:08:33
the popular vote. We won everything. And
00:08:36
uh there's a there's a thing that they
00:08:39
have now districts which is a big deal.
00:08:42
Uh I think in a way it's the most
00:08:45
important stat from the standpoint of
00:08:47
you know looking at numbers accurately.
00:08:50
So out of thousands of districts I won
00:08:54
2750
00:08:56
versus 525.
00:08:59
Think of that. 2750
00:09:01
versus 525. It was great. That's why the
00:09:04
map, when you see a map of the election,
00:09:06
it's all red other than two little
00:09:09
narrow lines on the other side. Please,
00:09:12
>> sir, Jimmy Lie was convicted today in
00:09:14
Hong Kong. Do you have any reaction?
00:09:16
>> I feel so badly. Uh, I spoke to
00:09:19
President Xi about it and uh I asked to
00:09:23
consider his release. He's not well.
00:09:28
He's an older man and he's not well. So,
00:09:30
I did put that request out. We'll see
00:09:32
what happens. Okay.
00:09:34
>> Yeah, please.
00:09:35
>> A question about Ukraine. Now that the
00:09:38
meetings in Berlin have wrapped up with
00:09:40
Zilinski, is there a timetable for going
00:09:43
to Moscow? Is the delegation going?
00:09:46
>> Well, I think that the delegation is
00:09:48
largely there right now. Actually,
00:09:49
they're in Europe and they met with
00:09:52
those people that I called out before
00:09:54
the various countries plus some others.
00:09:57
Uh they want to see it end, Katie. They
00:09:59
want to see it end. They they all I want
00:10:01
to see it end. They want to see it end.
00:10:03
I actually think that President Putin
00:10:06
wants to see it end. You know, I've had
00:10:07
good talks. We've had good talks with
00:10:09
Russia
00:10:11
and I think they'd like to get back to a
00:10:14
more normal way of life.
00:10:15
>> Mr. President, follow up there. An
00:10:17
article five like deal seems to be
00:10:20
emerging without uh NATO membership for
00:10:22
Ukraine. If such a security guarantee is
00:10:26
offered, what incentive is there for
00:10:28
Ukraine to give them any sort of
00:10:30
territory? Well, look, you have uh well,
00:10:32
they've already lost the territory, you
00:10:34
know, to be honest. I mean, they've the
00:10:36
territory is lost, but but uh in terms
00:10:39
of security guarantee, we'll work on
00:10:41
we're working with Europe on it. Europe
00:10:42
would be a big part of that, and we're
00:10:45
working on uh the security guarantee so
00:10:47
the war doesn't start up again. We we
00:10:49
don't want to have a war start up again.
00:10:50
You know, as I said, uh with Thailand
00:10:54
and Cambodia, two people I get along
00:10:56
with great. And I dealt with them and I
00:10:59
called them and I said, "Look, fellas,
00:11:01
you got to relax. You got to take it
00:11:02
easy." They lost. You know, they started
00:11:04
the war again. I got it ended.
00:11:07
Uh, and things like that are going to
00:11:09
happen. War, there's nothing nothing
00:11:11
pretty about war. Nothing good. And
00:11:12
there's nothing you can do to predict
00:11:14
what's going to happen. But I think
00:11:16
we've made a lot of progress with
00:11:18
respect to Russia and Ukraine. I hope I
00:11:20
hope you know last last month it was
00:11:23
close to 27,000 soldiers were killed
00:11:26
mostly soldiers but uh 27,000 people but
00:11:29
mostly soldiers were killed last month
00:11:32
in Russia versus Ukraine.
00:11:34
>> Is there a time limit on security
00:11:36
guarantees? >> Well, there's no time limit. We just the
00:11:38
time limit is whenever we get it done. I
00:11:40
mean, we're going to try to get it done.
00:11:42
Uh we're making progress. It's more
00:11:44
difficult than anybody could have
00:11:46
thought. I would have said that half of
00:11:48
the wars that I got settled, some were
00:11:50
going for over 30 years, that half of
00:11:52
them should have been more difficult and
00:11:54
they actually haven't been. There's a
00:11:57
lot of dislike between the two leaders.
00:11:58
You know that? And so it probably makes
00:12:01
it a little bit tough.
00:12:02
>> Have you recently spoken directly to
00:12:03
Putin? Have you recently spoken directly
00:12:05
to Putin?
00:12:08
>> Yeah, I have.
00:12:09
>> On Syria, Mr. President, on the US
00:12:11
troops killed in Syria over the weekend,
00:12:13
why do we have troops in Syria?
00:12:16
because we're trying to make sure that
00:12:18
there's going to be and remain peace in
00:12:20
the Middle East and Syria is a big part
00:12:22
of it. Uh the new leader is a strong
00:12:26
person and that's what you need. This is
00:12:29
a rough part of the world and uh we've
00:12:33
it's been amazing what what's taken
00:12:35
place in Syria. We got rid of Assad. We
00:12:39
got rid of other people that were really
00:12:41
bad people and that were in the way of
00:12:43
peace in the Middle East. You know, we
00:12:45
have legitimate peace in the Middle
00:12:46
East. First time in 3,000 years, and we
00:12:49
have 59 countries backing it.
00:12:52
And uh we'll see what happens with
00:12:54
Hamas. We'll see what happens with
00:12:56
Hezbollah.
00:12:57
But regardless, I mean, we have
00:12:59
countries that want to go in and clean
00:13:01
that out if we want them to do it. But
00:13:04
they said in the case of Hamas, they
00:13:06
said that they're going to disarm, and
00:13:08
we're going to find out whether or not
00:13:09
that's true. Um, Hezbollah in Lebanon
00:13:13
has been a problem. We'll see what
00:13:15
happens there. But there is legitimate
00:13:18
largecale peace in the Middle East. And
00:13:20
if there weren't, we wouldn't have been
00:13:22
able to make all of those deals that
00:13:24
we've made with the various countries.
00:13:25
They would have never been able to do
00:13:27
that. If for instance if Iran if we
00:13:29
didn't with that B2 bomber right there
00:13:32
on the desk if we didn't uh of which we
00:13:35
just ordered a lot more of the newer
00:13:38
version totally stealth they could not
00:13:40
see it they knew it was coming they had
00:13:42
no idea where it was it was pretty
00:13:43
amazing actually every bomb hit its mark
00:13:47
perfectly despite CNN trying to say
00:13:49
differently they didn't know they just
00:13:51
you know hoped they hoped that we didn't
00:13:53
but turned out that they did atomic
00:13:55
energy commission confirmed confirmed
00:13:57
it. So did actually so did Iran confirm
00:13:59
it. They got knocked to hell. But if we
00:14:02
didn't knock out their nuclear
00:14:04
capability, we would have never had
00:14:06
peace in the Middle East because you
00:14:07
would have had a dark cloud hanging over
00:14:10
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and all the
00:14:13
other countries and they would have
00:14:15
never ever been able to sign an
00:14:16
agreement. Yeah, please.
00:14:17
>> How soon do you expect that
00:14:19
international stabilization force to be
00:14:21
up and running in Gaza? I think that
00:14:24
it's uh in a form it's already running
00:14:26
in a very strong form. It's already but
00:14:28
it'll get stronger and stronger and more
00:14:30
and more countries are coming into it.
00:14:32
They're already in but they'll send
00:14:34
they'll send any number of troops that I
00:14:36
asked them to send. They want to see
00:14:38
peace. We have more than 59 countries.
00:14:41
We have many countries that aren't even
00:14:44
in the Middle East, but they're fairly
00:14:45
close to the Middle East. They they want
00:14:47
to be involved. So, it's been pretty
00:14:49
amazing.
00:14:50
>> Mr. President, uh, this week a man named
00:14:52
Kone Rodriguez is going to federal
00:14:54
prison for creating crypto privacy
00:14:56
software. The case was started under the
00:14:58
Biden administration, but uh, your DOJ
00:15:01
DOJ kept it going and secured the
00:15:03
conviction. A lot of people in crypto
00:15:05
are saying that this man should be
00:15:06
pardoned. Are you familiar with the case
00:15:08
at all or would you be interested?
00:15:10
>> I've heard about it. I'll look at it.
00:15:11
Why you think he should be pardoned?
00:15:13
>> Uh, >> sounds like it. Sounds like based on
00:15:16
your question. >> Many people in
00:15:17
>> Rodriguez, we'll look at that, Pam.
00:15:19
Okay, let's take a look at it. You know,
00:15:21
you'll have to tell me. I don't know
00:15:22
anything about it, but we'll take a
00:15:24
look. >> On Friday, please. Mr. President, uh
00:15:27
market analysts are calling for a Santa
00:15:29
rally. Typically, it's five trading days
00:15:31
going into Christmas in the first two
00:15:33
trading days of January. That's a sign
00:15:36
of market optimism. Do you anticipate
00:15:38
along with the historical low gas prices
00:15:41
that continuing into the first quarter?
00:15:43
>> Well, we've had the greatest stock
00:15:44
market in history, Brian. We have a
00:15:46
stock market that's gone up 52 times to
00:15:49
new highs during a 10-month period. My
00:15:52
10 months, you know, my first 10 months,
00:15:55
we set a record. 52 days, we had the
00:15:58
highest stock market in history,
00:16:00
including a day ago. And uh I didn't
00:16:04
look today, maybe it's up today, I don't
00:16:06
know, but uh we had 52 alto together.
00:16:09
And uh there's never been anything like
00:16:11
it. And the reason are the tariffs have
00:16:14
brought vast amounts of wealth into our
00:16:17
country. That uh countries that have
00:16:21
taken our car companies, those car
00:16:22
companies are all coming back. The AI is
00:16:25
coming at levels that nobody's ever seen
00:16:27
before. That's going to be a massive
00:16:28
industry. Uh without the tariffs, we
00:16:31
wouldn't have that. uh chips are coming
00:16:34
in, chip companies are coming in from
00:16:36
Taiwan and other places, but mostly from
00:16:39
Taiwan, which has almost 100% of the
00:16:41
market and uh we're now making chips and
00:16:45
I'm we're not paying anything. It's not
00:16:46
the chips act where they give billions
00:16:48
of dollars to companies and then they
00:16:50
just take the money and they run. That
00:16:52
was under under Biden. uh the fact that
00:16:54
I set tariffs up and that if they don't
00:16:57
make their chips here, they have to pay
00:16:59
a big tariff in order to send them into
00:17:01
the US, they have to be here. You know,
00:17:03
tariffs really work, in my opinion,
00:17:06
almost only in the United States.
00:17:08
They've been used against us
00:17:10
successfully because we had presidents
00:17:12
that had no clue. But tariffs really
00:17:16
work. We have taken in hundreds of
00:17:19
billions of dollars with tariffs. And
00:17:21
more importantly, we've we've taken in
00:17:23
countries and companies where and even
00:17:26
countries have sent their their car
00:17:29
making people into the United States in
00:17:32
order to avoid paying tariffs. And
00:17:34
they'll build a plant and they'll hire
00:17:36
our people to make the cars. But we now
00:17:39
have uh as you know, Toyota just
00:17:43
approved 10 billion dollars in
00:17:44
manufacturing plants in the United
00:17:46
States using our people. Without
00:17:49
tariffs, none of that would have
00:17:50
happened. Tariffs have given us great
00:17:53
national security. There is nothing like
00:17:56
what's happened in the last 10 months.
00:18:00
Tariffs have given us tremendous
00:18:02
national security and tremendous wealth.
00:18:04
Thank you all very much. Thank you.
00:18:09
