00:00:00
So, I've been taking pictures of comet
00:00:04
3i Atlas
00:00:06
pretty much almost every day, every
00:00:09
clear night, every clear morning.
00:00:14
The solar system comets,
00:00:18
most of them are
00:00:21
they have they are icy bodies.
00:00:25
They have a long tail
00:00:27
and the tail is made of
00:00:31
gases, water vapor
00:00:34
and they have those tails as they get
00:00:36
closer to the sun
00:00:39
and they get either warmer or hotter
00:00:43
and the tails gets formed
00:00:46
and you can clearly see the chemical
00:00:48
signature of these comets most of the
00:00:51
solar system comets. So some of them has
00:00:55
shorter orbits around the sun and the
00:00:58
others have much longer or long period
00:01:00
orbits around the sun but they are all
00:01:04
solar system bound.
00:01:06
Comet 3i Atlas is an interstellar comet.
00:01:10
So it didn't come from our solar system.
00:01:13
Chances are it may be coming from a
00:01:15
different solar system or even worst
00:01:19
case it may be coming from a different
00:01:20
galaxy. We don't know.
00:01:23
We don't even know the chemical
00:01:25
composition of this comet really. Well,
00:01:28
we call it a comet because that's what
00:01:30
we are so used to. When I take the
00:01:33
pictures of this comet,
00:01:36
I'm looking at not the gas tail
00:01:40
or either a front or a back. I'm
00:01:42
actually looking at the gas around the
00:01:47
comet. There are jets going off on all
00:01:51
sides of this comet.
00:01:54
There are multiple variations what I
00:01:57
have seen. I'm going to show you those
00:01:59
pictures.
00:02:02
Not only that, the comet has different
00:02:04
color composition depends on the day
00:02:07
when we are looking at. Sometimes it is
00:02:09
orange, sometimes it is green.
00:02:14
uh since the chemical composition is
00:02:16
unknown we don't know how it is reacting
00:02:19
when it is getting closer to sun and now
00:02:22
it is getting closer to Jupiter
00:02:25
Jupiter is a huge planet in our solar
00:02:27
system you can almost like fit thousand
00:02:30
earths inside Jupiter
00:02:33
unlike we were told Jupiter is not
00:02:37
really only a gas giant it's actually a
00:02:40
liquid metal giant
00:02:43
So the radiation belts of Jupiter are
00:02:46
thousands of miles away from Jupiter
00:02:50
close to 3 to 400,000 miles. 3i comet 3i
00:02:54
Atlas is not going anywhere near that.
00:02:57
It's passing further by.
00:03:00
But the size of the Jupiter is huge. So
00:03:05
the gravitational power that Jupiter has
00:03:09
is also huge close to.35 astronomical
00:03:12
units around the Jupiter.
00:03:16
So anything going that close which comet
00:03:20
3i is going that close is
00:03:23
gravitationally may get attracted by uh
00:03:27
Jupiter if it is going slow.
00:03:31
So if the comet gets slower and if it
00:03:34
gets into or gets near the you call it
00:03:37
gravity well or gravity hill
00:03:40
it might lose its orbit around the sun
00:03:43
and it might become
00:03:45
a gravitationally bound by Jupiter
00:03:48
meaning it'll become one of the moons of
00:03:50
Jupiter if it is a really slow comet and
00:03:54
if it gets attracted
00:03:57
so back in time like in 1920s 100 years
00:04:00
years ago, comet Shoemaker Levy 9 came
00:04:04
in and it was slow going when it closed
00:04:09
get got closer to the Jupiter and it
00:04:12
started moving away from the sun's orbit
00:04:17
to the Jupiter's orbit
00:04:21
and if the orbit is unstable it might
00:04:24
actually crash into Jupiter over a
00:04:26
period of several years later the
00:04:28
Shoemaker Levy
00:04:30
comet crashed into Jupiter and it
00:04:32
created a signature on the Jupiter's
00:04:36
surface.
00:04:38
We are not expecting that to happen to
00:04:40
comet 3i because 3II is going really
00:04:43
fast. It's not slow like other comet
00:04:46
that we have seen. It's much faster than
00:04:50
any other comet we have seen. So it can
00:04:52
easily pass the gravity well of the
00:04:57
Jupiter
00:04:59
but we don't know the chemical makeup of
00:05:01
this comet. We don't know the impact of
00:05:04
the Jupiter radiation on this comet. So
00:05:07
there is quite a bit of wait and see and
00:05:09
learning that we may have to have with
00:05:12
this comet. We are all learning this
00:05:14
interstellar object and about it
00:05:17
together. Let me show you the pictures
00:05:20
that I took of comet 3i.
00:05:23
There are three different variations of
00:05:25
it. If you are new to this channel,
00:05:28

00:05:30

00:05:34
notification when I post a new video on
00:05:37
comet 3i or any other astronomy videos.
00:05:40
Let me quickly show you the data that I
00:05:43
captured so far. So let me show you the
00:05:45
pictures that I captured so far. So this
00:05:49
is the first set of pictures captured a
00:05:51
month ago. So these ones
00:05:55
you can see the gas around them. They
00:05:59
don't look like jets but they look more
00:06:01
like gas.
00:06:05
You can clearly see they have gas around
00:06:08
them.
00:06:11
You see that?
00:06:19
Right? They they have gases coming
00:06:21
around them. They're like almost like a
00:06:23
coma. Right? So when I see the negative
00:06:26
of that picture like invert of that
00:06:28
picture
00:06:30
and when I take a look at that
00:06:34
now it's quite obvious that the coma
00:06:38
around
00:06:41
that object is very clear
00:06:49
it's flying around. Right? So that's one
00:06:52
type of pictures that I took. So these
00:06:55
are the second set of pictures that I
00:06:57
have.
00:06:59
And these ones,
00:07:03
you can clearly see some coma around
00:07:06
them. It's also green in color, right?
00:07:09
And you will see the coma is shooting in
00:07:13
the front, right? Once in a while,
00:07:16
you'll see the gas coming into the
00:07:18
front.
00:07:21
like right now, right?
00:07:25
Yeah. I'll let you take a look at it.
00:07:31
So, there are times when the gas comes
00:07:33
into the front.
00:07:35
This is coma, but the size of the coma
00:07:37
is huge. The gases around that is huge.
00:07:41
This is what you would see when you
00:07:43
create a negative image of those
00:07:45
pictures.
00:07:47
It clearly shows that there is now coma
00:07:52
and those gases are
00:07:55
shooting across. I inverted the third
00:07:59
set of pictures as well.
00:08:03
And you can clearly see the gases that
00:08:07
are coming out.
00:08:09
So in each of those cases you would see
00:08:13
the gases either coming out as jets or
00:08:18
coming out as coma and jets or just coma
00:08:22
or jets flying around. So these are the
00:08:25
three different variations of the comet
00:08:30
that I have seen. So 3A atlas shows
00:08:34
either
00:08:36
flying through some coma around it or
00:08:41
releasing
00:08:43
bunch of
00:08:45
jets and gas
00:08:48
like this way
00:08:50
or
00:08:52
a coma like almost like a comet a jet in
00:08:56
the front
00:08:58
and some jets around it. So these are
00:09:00
the pictures that I have taken. I
00:09:02
inverted them and I'm presenting this to
00:09:05
you in one screen. So you can actually
00:09:08
see how this comet is behaving depends
00:09:12
on the day we are looking at.
00:09:17
I'm going to take more pictures of this
00:09:19
comet and I will keep track of how it is
00:09:24
going to behave when it gets closer to
00:09:26
Jupiter.
00:09:29
It's going to be very interesting. If

Description:

Comet 3I ATLAS – Something Strange Is Happening Near Jupiter – I Took a PICTURE Most comets in our solar system are icy bodies. As they approach the Sun, they warm up, release gas and water vapor, and develop the familiar coma and tail. They follow predictable paths and return again and again on stable orbits around the Sun. Comet 3I ATLAS is different. This is an interstellar object — a visitor from outside our solar system — and it is experiencing Jupiter’s environment for the first time. While 3I ATLAS is not entering Jupiter’s radiation belts, it does pass through Jupiter’s vast gravitational influence, a region that extends tens of millions of kilometers into space. In this video, I show my own observations and images of 3I ATLAS and explain: What “near Jupiter” actually means in physical terms How Jupiter’s gravity can subtly influence an object without capturing it Why Shoemaker-Levy 9 was destroyed by Jupiter — and why 3I ATLAS is nothing like that What exotic but scientifically valid scenarios are still possible What we can (and cannot) conclude from the latest observations I’m not making extraordinary claims. I’m documenting what we’re seeing — and asking the right questions. 📷 All images shown include my own captures along with publicly available observatory and spacecraft data. If you want to follow this object as it continues its one-time journey through our solar system, you’re in the right place. 🔭 Astrophotography Equipment I Use (Affiliate Links) (Some of the links below are affiliate links.
