    mail-in ballots because they're

    corrupt." Just be clear, more Democrats

    use mail-in voting than Republicans do.

    This is classic voter suppression,

    something that Republicans are famous
    00:00:46
    for, but it's never been quite as
    00:00:49
    explicit as this. You can never have a

    real democracy with mail-in ballots. And

    we, as a Republican party, are going to
    00:00:56
    do everything possible that we get rid
    00:00:58
    of mailin ballots. We're going to start
    00:00:59
    with an executive order that's being
    00:01:01
    written right now by the best lawyers in
    00:01:02
    the country to end mail-in ballots
    00:01:05
    because they're corrupt. And uh you know
    00:01:08
    that we're the only country in the
    00:01:09
    world, I believe, I may be wrong, but
    00:01:10
    just about the only country in the world
    00:01:12

    Trump's meeting with Putin in Alaska.

    According to Trump's subsequent
    00:01:18
    interview with Shan Hannity, the Russian
    00:01:20
    leader told him the 2020 election was
    00:01:22
    rigged because of widespread use of
    00:01:25
    mail-in voting. And as we've now
    00:01:27
    discovered, Donald Trump will take
    00:01:29
    everything that Vladimir Putin says as
    00:01:32
    gospel. And that's the crux here, isn't
    00:01:34
    it? That Republicans try to stop people
    00:01:36
    from voting and Democrats want everyone
    00:01:39
    to vote. It doesn't get simpler than
    00:01:42
    that. Earlier on Monday, Trump posted on
    00:01:44
    Truth Social that he intended to lead a
    00:01:47
    movement to get rid of mail-in ballots.
    00:01:50
    He also attacked voting machines,
    00:01:51
    describing them as inaccurate, costly,
    00:01:54
    and highly controversial, and claimed
    00:01:56
    they were vastly more expensive than
    00:01:58
    traditional paper ballots with
    00:02:00
    watermarks. He went further, falsely
    00:02:02
    claiming that the US is the only country
    00:02:04
    in the world still using mail-in voting.
    00:02:07
    Ridiculous. Around 40 countries use
    00:02:11
    mail-in voting. Most European countries
    00:02:14
    and over a 100 countries permit overseas
    00:02:16
    citizens to vote by mail. And remember,
    00:02:19
    as Republican states reduce the number
    00:02:21
    of polling places to suppress the vote,
    00:02:24
    voting by mail, you would have thought,
    00:02:26
    would be more popular so people don't
    00:02:28
    have to drive miles just to cast their
    00:02:31
    single vote, the most basic and
    00:02:33
    fundamental form of a functioning
    00:02:35
    democracy. On Monday, the president said
    00:02:38
    his team was drafting an executive order
    00:02:40
    to ban the use of not just mail and
    00:02:42
    ballots, but also voting machines and
    00:02:45
    tabulators, which allow Ohio boards of
    00:02:47
    elections to get results out on election
    00:02:49
    night.

    that is directly contradicted by the US

    Constitution, which grants states

    authority to run their own elections.

    Mail-in voting has grown dramatically in

    recent decades from fewer than 10% of
    00:04:43
    voters in 1996 to nearly 50% during the
    00:04:46
    pandemic election of 2020. By 2022,

    about one in three Americans were still

    voting by mail, according to the MIT
    00:04:54
    Election Data and Science Lab. Advocates

    say the method improves accessibility

    for people with disabilities, parents of

    young children, and workers with long

    somehow compromised and that the

    election was rigged. And yesterday, it

    was Newsmax that agreed to pay Dominion

    $67 million to settle their defamation

    lawsuit filed by Dominion over for false

    claims that it rigged the 2020 election
    00:05:42
    against Donald Trump. Newsmax also paid

    $40 million last year to settle a
    00:05:47
    defamation lawsuit from another voting
    00:05:49
    machine company, Smartmatic. You see,

    the voting machines work. They are the
    00:05:56
    quickest way to get to a result, which
    00:05:58
    is of course what everybody wants to

    hear on the night of an election. Donald

    Trump is now trying to do away with

    voting machines, going entirely to handc
    00:06:06
    counts. He wants to go to paper ballots

    only, and he wants to ban mail-in
    00:06:11
    voting. These systems are used

    successfully around the world with no
    00:06:16
    issue. But Donald Trump knows that the

    Republicans are likely to lose the
    00:06:20
    Senate, the House, and potentially both

    in the midterms because Americans are
    00:06:27
    done with dictatorship. Americans are

    done with the military on the streets
    00:06:32
    arresting not just immigrants, but
    00:06:35
    American citizens also. They are done
    00:06:37
    with Donald Trump lying about the
    00:06:39
    economy, claiming that inflation is down

    and jobs are up when the opposite is
    00:06:44
    true. Americans are done with Donald
    00:06:46
    Trump lying about wars that he stopped
    00:06:49
    around the world and the vast amounts of
    00:06:51
    money coming into the US thanks to his
    00:06:53
    insane tariffs which are paid for by
    00:06:56
    American consumers. America has lost its
    00:06:59
    democracy as long as Donald Trump stays
    00:07:02
    in power. And now his plan to end
    00:07:05
    mail-in voting is proof positive that
    00:07:08
    Trump himself is choosing to deny
    00:07:11
    democracy to the people. He doesn't want
    00:07:14
    you to vote. He wants to stay in the
    00:07:16
    White House. And I can almost guarantee
    00:07:19
    that he will be running for a third term
    00:07:21
    in 2028 and will create some false
    00:07:24
    premise that he is entitled to even if
    00:07:28
    it means rewriting the Constitution or
    00:07:31
    ignoring it completely.
