Yeah. Even when [music] I'm happy, you
00:00:02
are by my side. And when I close my
00:00:04
eyes, you're stilluck. You never
00:00:09
[music]
00:00:10
baby. Even if you're gone, you come back
00:00:13
at night. [music] Cuz you get me down.
00:00:15
Whenever I'm on the road, you neverile.
00:00:20
[music]
00:00:28
Hey guys, welcome back to my channel or
00:00:30
welcome if you are new here. We are
00:00:33
going to be working on some house
00:00:34
projects today. I love doing this
00:00:36
because I get to work on a lot of little
00:00:39
things around the house. That's always
00:00:41
kind of what's going on if I'm not
00:00:43
trying to clean and maintain the house.
00:00:44
I'm just working on making it more of a
00:00:46
home. So, I have a lot of different
00:00:48
random projects around the house today.
00:00:50
So, over in here, I got a new kitchen
00:00:53
table. I want to go ahead and paint it
00:00:55
because it's like very orangey wood. I
00:00:58
thrifted it, got a really good deal on
00:00:59
it, but I have a really pretty spray
00:01:01
paint that I'm going to use. So, I'm
00:01:02
going to take that outside and paint
00:01:03
that. I also got this beautiful mirror
00:01:06
and I'm going to finally go ahead and
00:01:08
put it up here over there. And then I
00:01:11
also got some more storage in my
00:01:13
bathroom cuz we don't have like a linen
00:01:14
closet or anything like that actually in
00:01:16
any of the bathrooms. So, I got an above
00:01:18
the toilet organizer, but this one looks
00:01:21
actually cute cuz I feel like a lot of
00:01:22
them don't look the cutest, but this one
00:01:24
was very affordable and looks really
00:01:26
pretty. We have a lot of things to get
00:01:27
done. I'm sure it's going to take me
00:01:29
today and probably tomorrow to get
00:01:30
everything done. But let's go ahead and
00:01:33
jump into it. And we are going to be
00:01:34
starting with the table.
00:01:43
>> All right. So, this is the kitchen table
00:01:46
that I'm talking about. If you remember,
00:01:48
if you've been here for a while, I
00:01:49
actually had previously a little white
00:01:52
table. It was a little bit smaller than
00:01:54
this. It was just wobbly. I got it for
00:01:56
like $30. I think it just had a wobble
00:01:59
and it was we use this table all the
00:02:01
time because we don't have an eaten
00:02:02
kitchen. Like we don't have an island
00:02:03
that you can eat at and so we're in here
00:02:05
all the time. We eat a lot of meals here
00:02:07
together as a family. Sometimes it comes
00:02:10
across very orange on camera, sometimes
00:02:12
not as much. I feel like it's looking
00:02:14
okay right here, but in person it is a
00:02:16
very orangey table. Kind of the same
00:02:18
with like the cabinet wood. I want to
00:02:19
paint it because one, I just I don't
00:02:22
like the orangey tone that it pulls, but
00:02:24
also I love my also thrifted kitchen
00:02:27
chairs. I think they're so pretty. They
00:02:29
just really kind of clash with the wood
00:02:32
of the [snorts] table. They're two
00:02:33
different woods, very different tones,
00:02:35
and I want it to be more like this vibe.
00:02:37
So, I'm going to be doing a really
00:02:39
pretty tan paint color. So, to paint the
00:02:42
table, I'm going to be using this
00:02:45
Glidden Peppered Pecan in satin. It's
00:02:48
the same paint that I've used in a lot
00:02:50
of different spaces. I used it on a
00:02:52
dresser in a room rescue episode last
00:02:54
year. I also used it upstairs in my
00:02:56
bedroom on my nightstands. It's just so
00:02:58
pretty and I feel like this is a very
00:03:00
good like representation of the color.
00:03:02
It's very true to that color. So, I
00:03:03
think that's going to be pretty and
00:03:04
that's going to work really well with
00:03:05
these chairs. It'll also kind of tie in
00:03:07
the couch in the living room right here.
00:03:09
So, I'm really excited to do that.
00:03:11
Another option was to go ahead and sand
00:03:13
it all down, but it has a really good
00:03:15
top coat on it. So, I think that would
00:03:17
take a really long time and there's a
00:03:18
lot of like intricacies in the base and
00:03:21
on the sides and so I just want to do
00:03:24
something that's not so time consuming.
00:03:27
So, I think painting it is going to be
00:03:28
the best bet. And if you don't use spray
00:03:30
paint when you're diying furniture, try
00:03:31
it out. It makes a huge difference. You
00:03:33
can use it for like home decor. You can
00:03:35
use it for furniture. Just make sure
00:03:36
that you do really light coats and a lot
00:03:38
of coats and you'll be good to go. And
00:03:40
also make sure you're getting a good
00:03:41
brand of spray paint, too.
00:03:45
Make it worth your while.
00:03:48
Wow.
00:03:51
Wow. [music]
00:03:54
Make it worth your while.
00:03:58
Wow.
00:04:00
Wow.
00:04:06
All the things [music] I will do
00:04:10
to get close to you.
00:04:21
I still need to do another coat. This
00:04:23
has been one paint can and it looks
00:04:25
really nice. Especially the base that's
00:04:27
like done. That looks so good. And I
00:04:28
feel like it'll match the aesthetic of
00:04:30
the house so much better.
00:04:38
I will be around.
00:04:43
>> Okie dokie. We have the table outside
00:04:46
drying and I'm going to clean my fridge
00:04:48
off because I'm going to put together
00:04:50
the easiest ever command center ever,
00:04:52
ever, ever. To clean off my fridge, we
00:04:54
have the handy dandy general purpose
00:04:56
cloth from E-Cloth. And then the glass
00:04:59
and polishing cloth, also from E-Cloth.
00:05:01
This duo is the MVP. It works so well.
00:05:04
You just get your cloth wet, just water,
00:05:07
scrub down whatever stainless steel you
00:05:10
have or whatever window or glass or
00:05:12
mirror, whatever you have, and then you
00:05:13
go through and like buff it out and dry
00:05:15
it with this one. And it will leave your
00:05:18
stainless steel or whatever smooth
00:05:20
surface like that completely clean and
00:05:23
streak free. And I love this
00:05:28
[music]
00:05:34
>> [music]
00:05:36
>> You can totally make a command center on
00:05:38
a wall. However, one, you typically need
00:05:41
to drill it into the wall. You can use
00:05:43
Velcro command strips, which you guys
00:05:44
know I love so much. The other thing is
00:05:47
like if you don't have a lot of wall
00:05:48
space, there's almost zero walls in my
00:05:51
family room and kitchen because it's
00:05:53
either cabinets or windows, which I love
00:05:55
so much. But that means this is a little
00:05:57
bit tricky to find a spot for. So, we're
00:05:59
going to use magnetic magnets. So, I do
00:06:02
have this one, and I will have
00:06:04
everything linked below, but this is
00:06:06
like a customized to-do list. So, I'm
00:06:09
actually going to have this be for
00:06:11
chores. I might actually put this one
00:06:13
around the side, like next to the
00:06:16
built-in desk over there. I think I
00:06:17
might do that. Plus, it doesn't have
00:06:19
magnets, so that's a problem. I have
00:06:21
these two. They're clear. This one I
00:06:23
actually made several years ago just
00:06:25
using my Cricut. So, we have like our
00:06:28
routines, lunch for school. Just down on
00:06:30
notes, we have anything going on. Then,
00:06:33
I really wanted to get my meal, my menu
00:06:36
board. I have this, which I did use for
00:06:39
like my weekly routine, but I think I'm
00:06:41
going to actually use it instead for our
00:06:43
new like weekly menu board. So, it
00:06:45
doesn't have to be on here or on some
00:06:47
random list. It can stay on the fridge.
00:06:49
And then over here, I will just use like
00:06:51
for shopping, probably like the regular
00:06:52
grocery store, and then Costco or
00:06:55
something. There are so many other
00:06:56
options. You can just find whatever
00:06:57
works best for you. If you like the
00:06:59
clear, see, I just like that cuz it's
00:07:01
very clean. But then if you want like a
00:07:02
white one or whatever, then you can
00:07:04
change it up. You can get different
00:07:05
sizes. This is also renter friendly. You
00:07:08
just literally magnetize it or magnet
00:07:10
it. Put it up on your fridge with a
00:07:12
magnet and you're good to go.
00:07:16
And we're done. Our command center is
00:07:18
finished.
00:07:56
All right, we are making a dent in the
00:07:58
house projects. But before we get into
00:08:01
the rest of the ones that I have planned
00:08:02
for today, I want to say a huge thank
00:08:04
you to Grunons for sponsoring today's
00:08:07
video. Once again, I think I actually
00:08:08
started using them like the end of last
00:08:10
year. So, I'm really excited to team up
00:08:12
with them once again to share their new
00:08:15
limited edition Grinch snacks. These are
00:08:17
the sour Grinch punch flavor and they
00:08:19
are so yummy. They are still the same
00:08:22
formula as the original goes. You are
00:08:24
still going to get all the same
00:08:25
benefits, just something a little bit
00:08:27
more fun and festive for the holiday
00:08:28
season. But I really love that they come
00:08:30
in this single serving super convenient
00:08:32
little package so you can take it with
00:08:34
you on the go. You just grab a pouch,
00:08:36
open it right up, and you're good to go.
00:08:38
Now, this is not a multivitamin, greens
00:08:40
gummy, or prebiotic. It's all of those
00:08:42
things all wrapped into one. Look at
00:08:44
that cute little Grinch face. Isn't that
00:08:46
so fun?
00:08:48
They're really good, too. Now, generic
00:08:49
multivitamins typically have between 7
00:08:52
to nine vitamins, whereas Grun's gummies
00:08:54
are going to give you 20 plus. They also
00:08:57
come in a low sugar or sugar-free
00:08:58
option. The whole entire package is only
00:09:00
one net carb, so it's a very guilt-free
00:09:02
snack, but you're also doing something
00:09:04
really good for your body. Now,
00:09:05
something that I learned kind of
00:09:06
recently is that not all supplements are
00:09:08
methylated. It's just fancy talk for
00:09:10
meaning that B12 and folate can be
00:09:12
absorbed into the body. And thankfully,
00:09:14
Grun's gummies are methylated, so you're
00:09:16
good to go there. The Grun's gummies
00:09:18
actually promote gut health, beauty,
00:09:20
energy, immunity, recovery, and they
00:09:23
give you cognition benefits. I feel like
00:09:25
I always have them in my purse just like
00:09:26
ready for a quick snack or to make sure
00:09:28
that I'm doing something good for my
00:09:29
body while I'm out and about. I also
00:09:31
will give them to my kids. They think
00:09:33
they're getting a treat, but I know that
00:09:34
they're doing something actually good
00:09:35
for their bodies. So, if you guys want
00:09:37
to try out the limited edition Grinch
00:09:39
snacks from Gruns, I will leave my link
00:09:41
down below. They are having the best
00:09:43
sale of the year right now. So, you
00:09:45
definitely want to get them before they
00:09:46
sell out. And thank you again so much to
00:09:48
Grunes for teaming up with me in today's
00:09:49
video. Now, let's go ahead and get back
00:09:52
to all of the next house projects. All
00:09:55
righty. It's a new day and once again,
00:09:57
I'm getting a late start to working on
00:10:00
the house. Although, I've been up since
00:10:02
like 5:30 this morning and literally
00:10:05
running the entire day. So, I just got
00:10:08
back home from a meeting with my lawyer
00:10:10
and I'm going to start working in Noah's
00:10:12
room. I'm trying to think. I think it
00:10:14
was last week's or like the last video I
00:10:16
shared, I showed you guys that he got a
00:10:19
different bed because the loft bed that
00:10:20
we had, I think it was just a little bit
00:10:22
like too high up. Like it was a lot
00:10:24
taller than a typical bunk bed and it
00:10:26
just made him I don't know, felt maybe a
00:10:28
little nervous or uncomfortable. And so,
00:10:29
I found this on Facebook Marketplace. We
00:10:31
sold the other one and now we got a new
00:10:35
mattress which Noah has been so excited.
00:10:38
This is just going to go on the top
00:10:39
bunk, but Noah's been so excited that he
00:10:41
actually brought it in from the front
00:10:43
door and brought it all the way up the
00:10:45
stairs all by himself. I was like,
00:10:46
"Well, I'll help you get it in a
00:10:47
minute." And before I knew it, it was
00:10:49
sitting in his room. So, I'm going to go
00:10:51
ahead and try to get it unboxed and put
00:10:54
up here and all set up so that when he
00:10:56
comes home, he will have his bed cuz
00:10:57
he's been like so so excited for getting
00:11:00
his top bunk set. He just loves his bed
00:11:02
so much. Like he's like he was up here
00:11:04
reading this morning before school. We
00:11:05
had a busy morning. So, no beds are
00:11:07
made, not even mine. We'll work on it
00:11:09
now.
00:11:17
Is [music] everything
00:11:19
cold?
00:11:27
>> I still need a dresser for him, but
00:11:28
that's another day.
00:11:36
[music]
00:11:40
>> I'll be right.
00:11:43
I must be somewhere the [music] sky is
00:11:46
blue.
00:11:50
I'm too tired to [music] sleep.
00:11:53
[singing] Too tired to do anything else [music]
00:11:58
than doing nothing. I'm too tired to
00:12:02
rest. Too tired. I'm blue. Can't do
00:12:07
[music] nothing else.
00:12:12
All
00:12:30
right, next up, my like over the toilet
00:12:34
organizer. And I'm excited not
00:12:37
necessarily to build it, although it
00:12:38
shouldn't be that hard. Knock on wood.
00:12:40
But I'm going to go ahead and build
00:12:41
that. But I wanted to show you guys
00:12:42
something so random. I'm like so bugged.
00:12:46
I got this purse. It's a cute purse. I
00:12:48
think I got it from Ross, I think, for I
00:12:53
don't know, a little while ago. And it's
00:12:55
already ripping. It's actually been a
00:12:57
great purse, except I can tell it's not
00:12:59
holding up. So, I found this purse from
00:13:01
the thrift store the other day. It's
00:13:03
Rossetti. I just thought it was so cute.
00:13:05
I think it was like $3 or something. So,
00:13:07
I'm going to go ahead and change that
00:13:09
out. Not right now. probably tonight as
00:13:11
I'm sitting in bed not going to bed
00:13:13
which I was just talking to my friend. I
00:13:16
don't know how you guys are but you know
00:13:17
like when you everybody's asleep and I
00:13:20
feel like oh my gosh this is the first
00:13:21
time in the day that nobody is needing
00:13:23
me. I'm not needing to do anything
00:13:25
because it's night like you know you're
00:13:27
kind of not expected to be productive at
00:13:28
night and so it's just like guilt-free
00:13:30
downtime. And so anyway, I just run into
00:13:33
that and then in the morning I wake up
00:13:34
and so I find myself staying awake late
00:13:36
at night when I should be going to sleep
00:13:38
and then I wake up in the morning like I
00:13:40
should have slept. I miss sleeping. But
00:13:41
it's like I don't want to waste my free
00:13:43
time sleeping cuz I'm just asleep. I'm
00:13:45
not even awake for it. So anyway, just
00:13:48
random. Oh, this one's not near as
00:13:50
exciting. I thought these were poles,
00:13:51
but I ordered some cabinet
00:13:54
knobs and poles because I'm going to be
00:13:57
doing my sister's kitchen makeover this
00:13:59
coming week. Like actually in a couple
00:14:01
of days I'm going to be going to her
00:14:02
house and I'm going to be actually while
00:14:04
you guys are probably watching this
00:14:06
video I am going to be wrapping things
00:14:08
up. Hopefully things are going that
00:14:10
smooth and I'll be wrapping things up at
00:14:11
her house. But I'm doing a kitchen
00:14:13
makeover and then also a living room
00:14:15
makeover. And then this is so random but
00:14:17
I saw like a real the other day I think
00:14:20
on Instagram and it's what do you meme
00:14:23
but family edition so it's appropriate
00:14:25
for the kids. But it's so funny. They
00:14:27
were just like playing the game and
00:14:29
there will just be like little random
00:14:31
cards that you pull like when you
00:14:33
accidentally drop your phone in the
00:14:34
toilet and then everybody tries to like
00:14:37
match it to whatever picture card they
00:14:40
have and it just looks so funny. I know
00:14:42
the kids are going to have like a blast
00:14:44
with this and just we'll just be
00:14:45
cracking it. So when you're finding out
00:14:46
you're having pancakes for dinner and
00:14:48
you're like mhm sounds amazing.
00:14:51
[laughter]
00:14:52
Anyway, so random just stuff that um I
00:14:55
ordered recently. This is it. I think
00:14:58
that you have to put like screw these
00:15:01
back pieces once it's behind the toilet.
00:15:03
At least it seems like it's going to be
00:15:04
easier to do that way. So, that's what
00:15:06
we're going to do.
00:15:08
[music]
00:15:13
[music]
00:15:16
Here
00:15:21
it is in all its pride and glory. I just
00:15:23
think it's cute. Like it has this like
00:15:25
little feminine pretty arch. And you now
00:15:28
like I now have three shelves I guess
00:15:30
that can go here. So I can just start
00:15:32
putting things cuz like before I was
00:15:33
either laying things on the floor if I
00:15:35
needed them in here or like putting them
00:15:36
kind of next to the toilet which is like
00:15:37
kind of gross in itself. Uh but now I
00:15:40
can actually put things where I want
00:15:41
[snorts] up here and I'm perfect. So now
00:15:45
just to organize it.
00:15:49
[music]
00:15:54
[music]
00:15:58
>> So this one is nice for like this is a
00:16:01
closed off literally like a toilet room
00:16:03
like for the powder room downstairs. I
00:16:05
saw one and I'll link it below. It's so
00:16:06
cute. I think I might order it but it
00:16:08
has doors. It looks more pretty if it's
00:16:11
like in an open bathroom space. And so I
00:16:13
think I'm going to order that one for
00:16:14
downstairs. But even so, like I don't
00:16:17
know. No one's going into your bathroom
00:16:18
being like, "How fancy is this? How put
00:16:22
together are we?" So if you see toilet
00:16:24
paper out, it's like no shocker there.
00:16:26
We're in a bathroom, but it's organized.
00:16:29
I can also put like a little overflow
00:16:31
stuff so you can just see it instead of
00:16:33
having to have it crammed in my
00:16:35
cabinets.
00:16:37
And then I want to get another basket to
00:16:39
maybe put like some cleaning stuff so
00:16:41
that I just have like something like
00:16:43
this. Wonder if I have something else
00:16:45
and I could use this as my cleaning
00:16:46
basket. Be right back. So, we have some
00:16:50
pretty spray. And then I did find a
00:16:52
cuter basket for
00:16:55
girly stuff. It's going to go in this
00:16:58
cute little thrifted round woven basket.
00:17:02
I'll put that down here.
00:17:04
I use this for like cleaning items.
00:17:10
Perfect. And then for now, I won't even
00:17:12
put anything up here, but if I need to,
00:17:14
I have room.
00:17:23
[music]
00:17:24
Yeah. Spit it out.
00:17:30
[music]
00:17:33
>> All righty. We are on day three.
00:17:35
[laughter] We have not too much left to
00:17:38
do actually. But one of my most exciting
00:17:41
things is to hang up my pretty mirror. I
00:17:44
was just walking through World Market on
00:17:46
the way to the airport to drop my mom
00:17:48
off a couple weeks ago and I saw this
00:17:50
mirror and I was like, "Oh my gosh, it's
00:17:52
so pretty." I took a little mirror
00:17:53
selfie and then I ended up looking it up
00:17:56
online cuz I didn't even check the
00:17:57
price. I was just like, "Oh, that'd be
00:17:59
so cute." And I realized it was on
00:18:00
clearance. So, I scooted on back there
00:18:03
like the next day or two and picked it
00:18:05
up. Because I thought that would be so
00:18:07
pretty right here. It would just again
00:18:09
kind of reflect light. It's just the
00:18:10
vibe right here. So, I'm going to go
00:18:12
ahead and get that put up. I'm also
00:18:13
going to put some curtains up in my
00:18:16
office. Excuse a little bit of the house
00:18:18
projects mess over there. I'm also
00:18:20
prepping for the living room makeover
00:18:22
that I'll be working on in just a couple
00:18:23
of days. But you guys will see that I
00:18:25
think next week. I'm also going to be
00:18:26
like putting up some things in my
00:18:28
office. Just kind of getting that a
00:18:29
little bit more set up. But we have a
00:18:32
little bit of stuff to get done and then
00:18:33
we're going to already be into school
00:18:35
pickup. School pickup. I don't know how
00:18:36
it is for you guys if you have kids, but
00:18:37
they stagger their time. So like the
00:18:39
high school starts early, elementary/
00:18:41
middle school starts and then it's like
00:18:43
the high school gets out early. And so
00:18:44
there's really only like it's like 5 or
00:18:46
6 hours between the last drop off to the
00:18:48
first pickup. So it just gets a bit
00:18:50
chaotic, but it's all good. It's all
00:18:52
good. We're going to get some stuff
00:18:53
done. So let's get the mirror up first.
00:18:54
Oh, and then I just remembered I didn't
00:18:57
even show you guys the table, but we
00:18:59
brought it in. But that's how it looks
00:19:01
now. I'll get you I'll show you some
00:19:02
more up close shots. But I just love it.
00:19:04
It totally matches the couch. So I feel
00:19:06
like that kind of ties in. It really
00:19:08
matches well or like coordinates well
00:19:10
with the chairs. And I just love it so
00:19:12
much. And it's not wobbly at all. I just
00:19:14
wanted to go ahead and show you guys
00:19:15
kind of how it turned out in here. But
00:19:16
it was a win. So pretty. But now, let's
00:19:18
hang up the mirror.
00:19:23
[music]
00:19:35
Okay. So, we are doing the monkey hook
00:19:39
once again. Fast forward 20 seconds. If
00:19:41
you've heard me talk about this and you
00:19:42
don't need it again, here's your
00:19:43
drywall. Now, you're just going to poke
00:19:45
this little hole in here and then it
00:19:46
presses up against it with this so it
00:19:48
stabilizes it and then all you're left
00:19:50
with is this tiny little hook. Perfect
00:19:52
to hang something like a mirror or a
00:19:54
picture or whatever. Then when you pull
00:19:56
it out, you are left with a little tiny
00:19:58
pin hole. So, this is perfect. It's
00:20:00
great for renters as long as you can put
00:20:01
like little holes in your wall cuz you
00:20:03
can patch those. It avoids having to do
00:20:05
a full anchor and a wall anchor is a
00:20:07
whole big process to get fixed and
00:20:10
patched and all the things. So, these
00:20:12
are great. They're so nice. Also, I just
00:20:14
want to say about monkey hooks is they
00:20:15
come in a lot of different sizes. So,
00:20:17
there's some that hold like 50 lb, 25
00:20:19
lb, 100 lb. They're very strong. Don't
00:20:22
let their minimum damage and like small
00:20:24
size fool you. They're good.
00:20:29
[music and singing]
00:20:30
and forth.
00:20:33
I know that [music] I've been leaving
00:20:35
you [singing] with questions.
00:20:38
I know I [music] should, but I don't
00:20:40
want to fall.
00:20:43
I know with you [music] I have to learn
00:20:46
my lessons.
00:20:48
You go up when I go down. You see clear
00:20:52
when I go blind. When I fall hard, you
00:20:55
turn me around. [music]
00:20:57
Oh, and you go up when I go down. You
00:21:01
see clear when I go blind. And oh, I
00:21:04
hope [music] you always be around.
00:21:07
The show is over. [music]
00:21:15
[singing]
00:21:17
>> All right, we are in my office. So,
00:21:19
we're going to do a few things in here.
00:21:21
One, I want to put some curtains up. I
00:21:23
do have blinds, but these blinds are a
00:21:25
little bit sticky. So, I don't usually
00:21:27
mess with them, but it would be nice to
00:21:28
have some curtains that I could just
00:21:30
pull because sometimes when the sun
00:21:31
comes in, like, oh, it's actually kind
00:21:32
of not doing it right now, but it kind
00:21:34
of shines on the computer and that's
00:21:35
hard or it just like heats up the room.
00:21:37
Before we do that, I actually need to
00:21:39
spray paint this gold. I just think it's
00:21:42
going to match kind of the vibe better
00:21:44
in here. And I have like my desk bars
00:21:47
spray painted gold. I did that, gosh, a
00:21:48
couple years ago. So, anyway, I need to
00:21:50
work on that. By the way, I got these
00:21:51
from Ross. I got them actually I think
00:21:54
it was before I moved out. I just I love
00:21:57
the texture on them. You guys know I'm a
00:21:59
texture girl through and through. And
00:22:00
then the other thing I want to do is put
00:22:02
my pictures up on the wall so they're
00:22:04
not taking up space and like making it
00:22:05
feel cluttered over here. So, I'm going
00:22:07
to put those up on the wall with Velcro
00:22:09
command strips. And then I also want to
00:22:11
put up my calendar up here and kind of
00:22:14
make like a workboard space over here
00:22:17
just to keep anything anytime I can get
00:22:19
things out of my mind onto paper, onto a
00:22:21
calendar, onto something else that holds
00:22:23
it for me and my mind can kind of let it
00:22:25
go, it's always a win. So anyway, let's
00:22:27
head outside, spray paint this curtain
00:22:30
rod, and then we'll come back in and
00:22:32
start working in here. Okay, funny
00:22:35
story. I was looking at the curtains and
00:22:37
I'm like, what in the world? These are
00:22:38
not even the right height. I'm like
00:22:40
trying to remember why I [music] got
00:22:41
them. I got them for something else,
00:22:42
like a different project. And now I
00:22:44
can't even remember why I got them, but
00:22:46
they definitely are not going to fit the
00:22:47
windows in my office. So, I ordered a
00:22:51
different set and they'll be here
00:22:52
tomorrow morning. Thank goodness for
00:22:54
Amazon. So, I'll still get the curtain
00:22:56
rod painted and put up today and then
00:22:58
tomorrow I'll just hang them. That'll be
00:22:59
quick and easy.
00:23:02
[music]
00:23:04
Oh, it's you and you only so hard trying
00:23:08
to [music] show it. Give you [singing]
00:23:11
my all. Promise I'll be good. Waiting
00:23:15
[music] for answers. But now it's up to you.
00:23:21
[music]
00:23:22
Now it's up to you.
00:23:27
Waiting [music and singing] for answers.
00:23:32
Now [music] it's up to you
00:23:37
waiting. [music]
00:23:40
I know that I've been going back and
00:23:43
forth.
00:23:45
I know that I've been leaving you
00:23:47
[music] with questions.
00:23:50
I know I should, but I don't want to
00:23:53
fall.
00:23:56
I know [music] with you I have to learn
00:23:58
my lesson.
00:24:01
>> [music]
00:24:03
>> So on this big old blank wall, I don't
00:24:06
have much going on over here. And I kind
00:24:08
of like that in a way, like I don't want
00:24:10
it to be so busy, but also I need some
00:24:12
functionality. I don't know. I spend a
00:24:14
lot of time in here. And so I just want
00:24:17
to do a little something. I have my
00:24:18
pretty calendar. Something kind of fun.
00:24:20
I don't know. I've done this for years.
00:24:22
I actually will have my kids when they
00:24:24
just happen to walk through and it's
00:24:25
like a new month. I'll just have them
00:24:26
fill this out for me. Obviously, they're
00:24:28
just writing like November, September,
00:24:30
whatever, and then they're writing the
00:24:32
numbers. But it's fun because then as
00:24:34
I'm looking at it throughout the month,
00:24:35
it just like reminds me of them every
00:24:37
time I see it. And so, a fun idea to
00:24:39
have your kids fill out your calendar
00:24:40
and then you have a little piece of them
00:24:42
whenever you look at your calendar. So,
00:24:43
it makes it a little bit more fun.
00:24:45
Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and put
00:24:47
this up. And then I'm kind of thinking
00:24:49
of putting like it won't be today. I
00:24:51
want to put up my YouTube plaque because
00:24:53
I'm in my office. And then I also over
00:24:56
time I just kind of want to maybe like
00:24:59
make a little mini collage wall kind of
00:25:01
surrounding this. So it's like a little
00:25:03
personality with business. You know what
00:25:05
I mean? Anyway, that's kind of my plan.
00:25:10
Surprise, surprise. It's a new day. I
00:25:12
ended up being a chauffeur for Luke and
00:25:14
some of his friends yesterday and it
00:25:16
just took into the evening. And so now
00:25:18
we are getting the curtain rods hung up.
00:25:21
And before we do that, this is the
00:25:23
curtains that I ended up ordering. They
00:25:25
might look familiar. They're the same
00:25:26
ones that I used in my bedroom. And I
00:25:28
just love it so much that I thought I
00:25:30
don't know, I just might put this in my
00:25:31
office. And it actually matches my
00:25:33
pictures in here, too. So, before I
00:25:36
start hanging the curtain rod, I'm
00:25:38
actually going to pop these in the
00:25:39
dryer. It's one of the tips that I've
00:25:40
learned from my sisters. But you pop it
00:25:42
in the dryer, totally dry, but with a
00:25:44
few ice cubes, and it'll take out any
00:25:46
wrinkles, and then you don't have to
00:25:47
steam. So, you're welcome. I share this
00:25:49
all the time. Anytime I do curtains, my
00:25:51
trick is you go up and out. Anytime you
00:25:54
have an average slash tall slashnormal
00:25:57
ceiling height, you're going to go all
00:25:58
the way to the ceiling. That is going to
00:26:00
bring your eye up in the space and make
00:26:02
the space in the room feel a lot taller
00:26:04
than it is. Then you are going to go
00:26:06
out. I generally like to go about 1 foot
00:26:08
out, give or take a little like a few
00:26:11
inches. And the reason for that is it is
00:26:13
going to also be an optical illusion. It
00:26:15
makes your window feel wider. And so,
00:26:18
one, you're not going to be covering any
00:26:19
natural light when you have it pulled
00:26:21
open. And also, you're going to make the
00:26:24
space feel brighter and more open
00:26:25
because it feels like the window is
00:26:27
bigger than it is. So, play those little
00:26:28
things to your advantage everywhere in
00:26:30
your home that you can. And those little
00:26:31
things, those little details will make a
00:26:33
big, big difference. Also, a benefit of
00:26:35
going all the way to the ceiling is 99%
00:26:38
of the time you're going to hit a stud
00:26:40
because you'll have the header of the
00:26:42
room so that they can drill drywall into
00:26:43
it. That means usually you're not going
00:26:45
to have to use an anchor or anything or
00:26:46
a Molly screw. You can just drill a wood
00:26:49
screw straight into the wood and it's
00:26:51
super secure. [music]
00:26:56
>> I know that I've been [music] with
00:27:06
I know [music] with you I have to learn
00:27:09
my lesson.
00:27:11
And you go up when I go down. And you
00:27:14
see clear when I go blind. When I fall
00:27:17
hard, you turn me around.
00:27:21
And you go up when I [singing] go down.
00:27:24
And you see when I go blind.
00:27:27
>> I love how these curtains turned out in
00:27:29
here. And honestly, I just love all the
00:27:31
little things that I did around the
00:27:32
house over the last few days. It turned
00:27:34
out so good. I always say this, it's all
00:27:35
in the details and every step is just
00:27:37
continuing to make this house more of a
00:27:39
home for myself and my boys. And I'm
00:27:41
just I love it. And I hope you guys
00:27:42
enjoy following along with me. Now, I do
00:27:44
have a lot of fun videos planned for not
00:27:47
only the rest of the year because we
00:27:48
only have like a month and a half left,
00:27:50
but also going into the new year. I'm so
00:27:52
excited and I'm looking forward to all
00:27:53
of that. But if you are not already
00:27:55
subscribed and you have not joined this
00:27:57
crazy life family, go ahead and hit that
00:27:59
subscribe button, join the family, and
00:28:01
leave a comment down below letting me
00:28:03
know that you're new here. But I hope
00:28:04
you guys have an incredible rest of the
00:28:05
day, and I will see you in the next one.
00:28:07
Bye guys.
