    Set the master cylinder at an even level

    Place a rag or towel below to protect the paint in case any brake fluid spills

    Suck up some fluid with a syringe to lower the level, so when you push the pistons into caliper, the level will rise back up

    Loosen the pad mounting pins 5mm allen socket

    Remove two bolts to take the caliper off the swingarm

    Remove the bolt to move the caliper around and make it easier to reach the pistons

    Pull the bracket away from the caliper

    The piston surfaces are dirty and need to be cleaned before pushing them back into the caliper

    Pump the lever to push the piston out a little

    For the parking brake piston, use a big flathead screwdriver to rotate the piston outward

    Get both pistons out a little to give room to clean the surface without touching the caliper

    Use a wire brush, #0000 steel wool, and 1500 grit sandpaper to clean off the dirt and rust

    Clean until it's smooth and shiny again so the pistons won't damage the seals when you push them back into the caliper

    Push the piston in until it's flush into the caliper

    I use a ratchet to hold one piston in while pushing the other piston in

    Once it's flush into the caliper, make sure the + shaped line matches the dot

    Take the spring pad out to inspect it and make sure there’s no damage

    Use a nylon brush to clean the caliper

    Get new brake pads – link is in the description box

    The new pads don’t come with a shim set, so use the old shims

    Remove the shims from the old pads

    Clean the bracket rods really well

    Caliper grease

    Do not put too much grease inside the rubber boots

    Light coat of grease on rods

    Push the bracket all the way in so the rubber boots snap on

    Clean up pad mounting pins

    Clean until the surface feels smooth

    Apply blue thread locker to the pad mounting pins

    Push the pads against the spring pad to allow the pad mounting pins to slide into the holes

    Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the pads apart to allow the brake disc to fit in between

    Apply anti-seize lubricant to the caliper mount bolt threads

    Tighten to torque setting: 23 Nm or 16.5 lb-ft 12mm socket

    Tighten to torque setting: 18 Nm or 13 lb-ft 5mm allen socket

    Pump the brake lever until it feels stiff again

    Test to make sure everything works before heading out for a ride
